Ok I'm going to be in the market really soon for a good cage. I have heard alot about FI cages, but they don't seem to be really durable for beginers. 905 cages want to roll the bike onto the gas tank. And powers cages are really bulky. Now on the other hand MDX cages seem to be the way to go now. I heven't really heard anything bad about them yet, so tell me your opinions and post up some pics if you got them.

i have a 1st gen 905 on my 900 and i've looped 4 times plus several attempted chainsaws and each time the cage took the hit really well. it's pretty bent up now but thats expected. i would definetly consider 905 again when i need another cage.

MXD is a sweet cage and i've never heard anything bad about them, but checkout www.sickinnovations.com they make a sweet cage for f4i's.

I've been looking around for a cage too and the research I've done pretty much brings it down to two choices: Freestyle Ingenuity and 905. the 905 cage is sleeker and built very strong but it does lend itself to rolling onto the tank in a wreck. The Freestyle Ingenuity cage has huge extended frame sliders to prevent rolling and they have recently improved their design to strengthen things up. I think I'm gonna got with the FI cage.

bro, get a cage with sliders! sliders are what will keep the cage working fine. when a cage w/o sliders hits the ground, it bends. check out my hommies at www.pnkages.com jason, at PNKAGES is done pushing out cages for now. but those things are bullet proof. FI or Powers cages are probably going to be your best bet! or, you can check out www.badphish.com and click on the tigershark cages. simple cage design with a spring loaded slider on them. so you get 3X the protection. ive gone through 2 905s. ive owned one PNKAGE and one FI and i gotta say those two can take a huge beating. just my 2 cents. good luck finding one you like.

Yeah I forgot about them. I really like the look of those, but haven't really heard of anyone using them yet. I was going to get on of theirs, but I'd like to hear some opinions first.

Thanks for the reply Mike_Stunts I don't really like the look of the 1st one and I'm still not sure about the FI cages. I'm sure that they both will take a beating, but just not sure yet. I'm planning on waiting until this winter to get one, so I have some time to look.

Thanks for the replies guys.

As for being sleek, i dont think you can beat the FI. Definately doesnt look as bulky as any other cage...

and when it came down to me getting a cage, i started looking at all the pro's that ride F4i's and it seems like 90% of them rock the FI cage, so thats what i went with...

i've been looking into these TygerShark.net. Don't know how well they hold up yet though but they look sick and I dig the spring loaded sliders

Sounds like I'm going to get a sick cage. A few guys that I have been talking to said that its the strongest cage on the market right now. I haven't heard anything bad about their product and their customer service seems to be top notch. I'll let you know when I decide to get one but sick innovations is at the top of my list right now.

I c I c... I was looking and I see they have the plastics off on almost all of em... you gotta pull the plastics to put the bar on? and I dont see any sliders, does that mean it'll roll onto the tank like the 905 does once in awhile?

thanks for the link, as my name says, im blind :S

I just put a sick innovations on my f4i and that is the best cage I have had so far. I crashed the other day and the bike launched probably 4ft in the air and landed right on the cage and the cage held up great and I had to pull it off the next day to put my plastics on and it went on and off no porblem. I had a 905 and it rolled the bike onto the clipons to easy and there welds cracked in no time. Freestyle Ingenuity is a good cage for a street bike cause its not real bulky and it holds up well if you don't pancake the bike all the time.

I didn't like the sick innovations at first cause it is kinda bulky but after seeing how well it worked on my bike and that he has them in stock for $199 and you get it in a couple days instead of waiting forever like the other company's...I got the round bar too and that thing is pimp it fits inside my tail with out having to cut anything and I can scrape it with out breaking my tail to pieces..
