lol I'm just telling you Honda hasn't used the same engine for 5 years on two different bikes, i mean I just went out and looked at my 02 F4i and 03 RR side by side and they are NOT the same engines. They have similar specs and are both I4's but that doesn't mean they are the same engine.

bruingoal6: the F4i was made for racing too, it was Hondas 600 racebike in 01-02 (as was the F4 before it, the F3 before that, etc...) I think miggy won a championship on it, but that was long before I got into bikes. Honda continued to produce the F4i because they needed an middle ground bike, like the katana, YZF600R, etc so they added a more comfortable seat and left it in production to compete with the bikes mentioned before. I ride an F4i on the track and its still a very capable bike

and tahoe your right I looked up some RR dyno's and they are more like 107-110 (hopefully the 07 will catch up to the Suzuki and Yamaha)

hey woody, don't forget the suckiness of cali bikes with less HP than that!

"I know you F4i guys love your bikes and you should they are great rides but they are not equal to the RR, if it was a faster better bike than why do they cost less?"

nope they aren't equal and are bred for different things...cost doesn't have anything to do with "better or faster"...that is straight up biker boy squid talk!

it's all about the rider mang...watch it next time you get smoked by an F4i....oh but wait, that would mean going to the track and by your statement, you most likely don't...i could be totally wrong though...

the question was would a rr beat a f4i in a straight race and both bikes stock Yes the rr will beat it! are you saying a stock f4i will beat a rr in a straight line? because if you are than you are wrong!

lol tell me about it, I'm pretty sure i'm the only guy in Mississippi with a cali bike haha

and bruingoal6 your right the RR would defiitely beat an F4i in that situation
The F4i was a great race bike back in 2001-2002 but the newer 600s have made so many leaps in performance in such a short time you can't expect the F4i to still be a contender

that said I love my F4i on the track, I'm sure the RR has more potential but I've already got my F4i set up just how I like it and it would take a lot of work to get my RR to feel that natural to me

the f4i is still a great bike, please dont think i am bashing it, but the rr stock is a faster quicker bike. I just think of the f4i of kinda like a retarded little brother to the rr. LOL Just kidding there Corky!

My buddy has on 06'RR, We raced several times and I smoke him every time and we've been up to 156mph. but then again his bike is stock, and I'm a better rider, It doesn't matter what bike you have, it's what you do to it and how you use it that matters. I used to have a 97'Gt Mustang with a Vortech supercharger and my buddy had a 98'Cobra and I would kill his ass every time no problem, my car was "cheaper" than his, But on the streets all that matters is who wins....

if the bikes have the same mods, and the same rider, the RR will beat the F4i. But... the mods and rider make the difference, probably the rider more than the mods.

Alright, Ive dusted many F4i's in my day. Thats all I have to say. Yea the RR is supposed to be faster but its only by a couple horses not like 30 horses.

About the engines. If they are both I4's than they are the same engine only with different fuel injection systems. Its just like the 4G63 in a 2G eclipse. They are the same engines with different modifications for more power.

Hey boys...

After watching this thread for a few days, I cannot help but wonder... Has anyone actually done any research to find out who the hell is right??? It just seems to go back and forth.

I've stayed out of this one, and I think I will continue to do so. But just to point out to anyone that might be new to biking, those HP numbers are at the crank and are NOT the same as to the rear wheel. I would love to see the 07 rr put out 117 to the rear wheel, but Honda is a little lacking in the HP department compared to it's competitors.
