Just curious, has anyone seen or have raced their RR vs. F4i. Please, dont write about the technical specs or rumors that you heard of. I would appreciate if I can read some of your personal encounters. I have an F4i and thinking of getting the 600RR next year. If they are way to similair I would just wait another year and go to a 954 or 1000rr afterward.
Thanks for reading my post.

my roomate has an f4i and weve raced a couple times. from a 20 mph punch, its no contest. Then we did a couple staggered where he was ahead about 1 car length and he kept the lead for about 2 seconds then i got into the powerband and flew by him

are you talking straight line racing? the RR has more power and you can feel its faster in a straight line
that said who buys a 600 to go straight? takes all the fun outta riding if you don't have fun in the turns
I've ridden both the F4i and RR on a track and the RR stock feels faster than my pretty highly modified F4i in the corners and obviously it accelerates faster

I see what you guys are saying. That pretty much what I expected. THanks.
However, I dont think there is too much power difference between the two bikes. Its the same exact engine but the fuel injection is programmed for dual stage on the RR. Also the bike is 7 pounds lighter, which I dont think make much of a difference. I dont go on the track with my bike nor I am planning to do that. Im just looking for a better street machine. Personally, I like the front of the F4i more, but the banana seat on the new models makes me want to vomit.

I raced a guy from my neighbor hood, little ****in squid....It was an 02 though. He couldn't ride for shit but i doubt that would have mattered.

Thats funny, I've raced 600RR's and none of them beat me. I have ridden a couple stock ones and I can noticeably tell they have quite a bit less power than my bike. Of course I have a big list of mods that would cause that outcome.

yeah stock the F4i has around 100HP the 05/06 RR should be around 110-115 and the RR is lighter

and btw the F4i and RR engines are not the same, who told you that?

As far as i knew since 2003 the F4i engines and 600RR engines are the same, save for different fuel-injection and a few small things.

the F4i has used the same engine since 2001, they tweaked the injection a little after 2001 but that has nothing to do with the engine. If the RR's are using an 01 engine (which I can promise you they aren't) Honda has some real problems.
I think they have some of the same specs but they are still 2 different engines

Not to start a war or anything but IMO stock f4i's have more towards the 89-93hp.

never had mine dyno'd but i think stock 01-04 F4is usually have 95-100 HP (05/06 have emissions crap like the cali versions of previous years)

whatever point is the F4i and RR don't use the same engine

THey do use the same engine. The only difference is the fuel injection systems.

RRs aren't 110-115 when you dyno them...that would be super duper optimal but real life....it just doesn't happen like that.

i walked from a 2005RR on my F4i at the track...but yes, my f4i is modded.

Ok let me set everyone straight. the rr and the f4i do NOT have the same engine. the rr is built for racing and has about 10-15 more HP. if you took a stock rr and a stock f4i the rr will freaking dust it! the f4i weighs more and has less horsepower. I know you F4i guys love your bikes and you should they are great rides but they are not equal to the RR, if it was a faster better bike than why do they cost less?
