yea i have the same problem because my clips are broken right now i have some electrical tape holding it together , my bike is black so u dont notice it right away hahaha

Demon RR -> RE: problems with tail plastic (7/11/2006 6:38:32 AM)

mine also does this. about a mm of space between the sides and the center piece. my clips also are broke, but it has not flew off (even at 125mph).

OstateCBRF3 -> RE: problems with tail plastic (7/11/2006 10:44:27 AM)

Yup tabs on mine are broke also. They only split apart when I hit some hard bumps out on the roads, which around here is all over the place! [:@]

Yeah, mine are broken off too. Its kinduva mickey mouse fix, but I have one of those nets that hold stuff on the back, and it keeps it together some.

I used some silicone. It worked for me. Not even that noticable!

Thegreatone -> RE: problems with tail plastic (7/11/2006 11:04:28 PM)

crookedeyemotocross -> RE: problems with tail plastic (7/12/2006 10:49:14 AM)

Boy am I glad to see that I am not the only one that has this issue. Quite annoying actually

AKRider -> RE: problems with tail plastic (7/12/2006 7:04:51 PM)

+1 for the messed up tail. I guess I could tape it or something but since I pull those panels frequently I just leave it alone. Fortunately on my bike it really doesnt show much...

That or a bungee cord is the best solution, so you can remove the panels easily when you need to get under the seat for your tool kit or battery or whatever.

cbr_newbie -> RE: problems with tail plastic (7/14/2006 1:17:46 PM)

i stopped messin with mine and just took the whole back piece off.. lol looks like a skeeellleetttonnnn!!! that is till i save up enough money to get an aftermarket 1 piece rear section [:D]

transamlt1man -> RE: problems with tail plastic (7/15/2006 12:12:11 AM)

Mine will pop off a little when I do over 140mph or land to hard on a wheelie. I get soooo pissed!

ROADRUNNER -> RE: problems with tail plastic (7/17/2006 10:47:17 PM)

I don't actully have one im a little spoiled but we just did a engine swap on my friends 97 f3 and its runs and looks new however that stupid rear plastic sucks and pops apart, we just drilled a small hole and tie strapped the whole thing together the clip part is under the ferring so you can't even tell and its been like that now for 3months and havn't fallin part again since....i would suggest that =)
