Hey there has anyone used Shinko tires on their 1000RR? Thinking of buying an Ultra Soft 003 rear tire for my "06 1000RR. Any feedback on this tire brand would be appreciated.

Are you serious? Go to your local track day and walk around. Ask people what they are using and why. Pick up a magazine and see what they are using or raving about. Go to the dealership and see what the new sportbikes are coming with and wonder to yourself, why would Honda NOT use this tire? It's probably fine for strictly commuting, but I doubt you bought a 1000RR for riding to work and back is all. Just my 02.......but for just "riding" real nice and probably slow.......Im sure they would be fine for that.......but like I said........You didnt buy a bike like that and not expect something out of it when you romp on it.

Actually I've heard decent things about the new stick Shinko's but it's 1/4 track related. No info at all on how they react in the twisties but supposedly if you like running the 1/4 they're damn good. I don't do a lot of stoplight to stoplight racing so I'm gonna stick with my Pilot Powers or BT012SS -- only $50-60 more than a set of Shinko's and I know what to expect from them.

Well after runnin the tire for 2000 miles or so, they hold up well. They are a very sticky tire but are very flat compared to a dunlop. Its a very stable tire but takes a little more effort in the twisties to switchback. I have never had a slip out of them though. This is on a F4I.

Most of my friend use shinko. They are good for the track as well as cornering. Butg i'm gonna go with either michelin pilot power or pilot sport.

There was a bike that came into the shop 2 weeks ago with a flat tire. It was a Shinko. The tire actually damn near discintegrated (sp?). There was a hole about 4 inches long where the tread and the sidewall come together. I'm never buying Shinkos

Didn't you see Shinya Nakano's 2004 crash down the front straight? 200+MPH Dumped right on his head.

I rode one session at a track day with them..........NEVER, EVER AGAIN. There was no feel from either the front or back, turn-in took twice the effort, they were sliding around badly coming out of every corner. All this and I wasn't even pushing, maybe 3/4 race pace... But on the street they may be fine as long as your not pushing them.
