pretty easy really... get the wheel from a 90 and up cbr1000 along with the spacers, DO NOT use your speedo gear. you will also have to get a 90 and up speedo cable and sprocket cover to take the place of the gear not being on the wheel anymore... too bad you arent on this side of the pond, i have just about everything you would need to do this...

Thanks for the info Hurricane, am in the process of waying up the cost. In your opinion is it worth it? i have a 5 1/2" wheel on the back and it doesn't seem to be a drama with the skinner (origional) wheel on the front. Did you notice any difference? And as you say, 'wrong side of the pond' being downunder there doesn't seem to be a lot of the older bikes around and even parts from the wreckers are very expensive!

not really the "wrong" side...just the "other" side... i would love to visit your country someday, if only to flush the toilets... back to the topic on hand. i did notice a big difference when i put the wider wheel/tire combo on the front of my 88. it reallt felt like a new bike, and that was worth the price. does yours have that air assist forks that the 87-88's have over here? i really hated that suspension setup, and the better handling that i got from the new wheel/tire is what really pushed me into the 99 1100XX front end conversion.

Hey Hurricane1000, can you go into more detail about that 1100xx conversion you are mentioning?

Must be feeling a bit slow @ the moment, 'flush the toilets'?? Yeah got the air asst forks, heven't really played with 'em. Might look into it a little more seriously after your words, priced a rim, the wreckers want $280 for it, sounds a little steep. If you do get over here visit the Northern Territory, no speed limits apparently, must get there myself one day... What about a few pics??

I think he ´s referring to the "urban legend"? that states that when water flushes out of a sink trough the drain, the water spins in the opposit direction "down under" in comparision to the rest of the world...
