Other than your bargain and your magic repair fingers, what´s your thoughts about the Scorpion Slip-on? I´m thinking of ordering one actually. It will cost me ~330 euro incl. shipping and dB-killer from swedish dealer, I think it´s a fairly good price?

That looks great! Even better was the price. I just got a few questions. 1. How did you know that the slip on would work? 2. Did it come with the midpipe made specific for our model? 3. How did you fasten the aluminum around the can and are you still able to repack? I have been contemplating a quieter slip-on for mine but haven't gotten around to checking the inner diameter of the pipe and finding what will work. Nice work, I like the black.

The actual package you can buy from scorpion, it came from another CBR a year older than mine that had fallen over and the can had hit the kerb at the side of the road. The can inlet is 50mm the link pipe is of course specific to the CBR and a blanking plug for the other side. I would like to do the same on the left side of the bike but getting a link pipe for that side may seem tricky! The ali skin is folded with 2 L shaped pieces on each end (one being slightly longer), next it was wrapped arond the original silencer body,(fig 1) Then clamped together so that the 2 L shaped pieces met flat together (fig 2), the longer L shaped bit was then folded over to make a flnge (fig 3) which then was folded flat against the body on the rear side of the can near the bottom to make the join (fig 4), The ends were put back in, masked off and it was then painted, when dry the end bands were rivited back on and does'nt it look well and it sound even better!
