i dont want to give an exact price yet. it is still early in the stages but it will be for well less than than the dr.turbo kit and the turbo is up front where it belongs. dr. turbo wants $5500 for their kit and to me it doesnt seem worth that much. they have the market now because they are the only one who has a f4i kit but if i make this kit, it will definately shadow their kit. im still working on the map but right now it definately pulls as hard as a liter bike. i broke a cam chain tensioner but im putting a manual one in so then ill get back on it. ill keep you posted on dyno numbers but it should be well in the 150's for wheel hp.

At 9# boost it should pull at least 170hp -- maybe 180. I'd be concerned about a connecting rod letting go running 9# continuous. 5# for the street will be more reliable in the long run.

Why dont all you people complaining keep you useless flames to yourself. The kid wants to put a turbo on his bike, let um. No one asked for your opinion on it, he asked how to do it. I hate all the people the come to a forum smashing peoples ideas or want, when they dont ask for it. Sorry Max, I had to say it. It gets under my skin when people do this. I could understand all your "he's going to kill himself" comments if he asked, Should I put a turbo on my 600RR. But he didnt. The original post was, what do I need. So, IMO, unless you know what he needs, keep the "this is a dumb idea" comments to yourself.

well its been done before and 9# is a proven 150whp on an 01 f4i. my kit may make more but i dont think 20whp more. i would expect around 180 at the crank. i dont know exacty what it will do for an rr but i couldnt imagine much more if any. 170 or 180 seems a little high since a lightly modded busa puts down around 165-175. i would worry about cracking a piston before the rod goes. a mild set up is very potent for these 600s. you could do rods and pistons and really crank the boost, but then i would worry if the trans and clutch could take the abuse. a 300hp 600 would be pretty worthless unless you extend it like 10".

the rr kit would have to be a little differnt im sure but i have an extra turbo laying around so as soon as i get an rr available to work on, maybe ill get one worked out. im getting ready to turbo a zx-9 soon so it will probably tie me up for a little while. does the rr use the same manifold bolt pattern?

If you are asking, then it means you want the answer handed to you and are not willing to do the research yourself. This means that YOU will not be able to do it. Ask yourself the following: 1. Do you know what a compressor map is? 2. Do you know how to calculate the VE of your motor? 3. Do you know how to TIG weld or at least MIG? 4. Do you know how to tune a naturally aspirated bike? 5. Have you at least read one book on Turbocharging internal combustion engines? If you answered No to any of the above, pay someone to do it and TUNE IT. Dropping a turbo on a NA motor without any knowledge of tuning will leave you with a pile of busted parts or a bike that runs worse than the stock version.

But I think that the only way to get a noob or squidly type to listen to you is to let him do what he wants. He will either kill himself or blow up his bike. If he just blows up his bike, once he can afford a new one, then he might be willing to listen to you. Sometimes the best way to convince someone that you are right, is to let them go do the wrong thing.
