94 f2 with 12,000 miles. I locked the rear brake coming to a stop, spun it 90 degrees, and then smacked it down on the right side. No apparent external damage( other than fairing). Now the oil light is staying on and there is a distinct clicking/knocking which seems to be coming from the top end. External/ electrical connections are fine. It does seem to heat up fast and not be getting oil circulation. I am a diy'er but am new to bikes. Should I start tearing it down and if so, where should I start... or should I take it to a mechanic.
PS- anyone have advice on the best shops in the Seattle area?

Sounds like you got an air lock in the oil system.
did it with me when I got my bike knocked over
remove the right hand lower fairing, (because thats the easiest)
take off the oil filter let the oil drain out of the hole, empty the filter and re fit the oil filter
crank the engine over with the kill switch set to off for a few seconds to get the oil in the filter again
the flick the kill switch to on and start the engine, the oil light should go out and she should purr like before
Let me know how you got on,
