i didn't buy my for track use, it's never even been on the track. i love cranking down a road using what the bike has to offer. i think all you track yuppies are like semi-drivers in the sense that you just care about your track riding and have no respect for road riders anymore because they "aren't safe to speed" so you have to ween off your track stuff to the road riders.(similar to how a semi driver forgets that he drove cars.....) i ride windy country roads that i've been down many times....granted it might not be as safe as the track, but who bought a bike to be conservative with it? live the dream baby.

Big difference in running a backroad at 40mph than a highway at WTFO. Takes a bit more skill too. quote:
ORIGINAL: Fastf4i i love cranking down a road using what the bike has to offer. The reality of the situation is that you will NEVER, EVER, EVER, be able to ride a modern 600 to its potential on public roads. That is really all there is to track riding. It's kind of like buying a McLaren, then driving it around town. The truly funny thing is everyone seems to think it's a big deal to brag about how fast you went. Why? A n00b can do the same thing the first day he buys the bike. It dosent take any skill. All it takes is a lack of common sense and disregard for self preservation. A little risk in life is fine. It reminds you that you are alive. Learning to moderate that risk is what separates adults from children. Don't misunderstand me. I have seen many a 40 year old child in my life. They are the ones that seem to think their actions have to effect on others. They are the ones that will tell you it's their right to not wear a helmet and go bar hopping on a bike then tear ass down the highway. Don't ask them who is going to be crying next to their hospital bed and feeding them dinner through a straw for the rest of their life when they perform a telephone pole Lobotomy. They don't care about those people. It's all about THEM and their adrenaline rush.

i get to 150 every other day, be careful when doing so. and make sure your bike is in top shape if you going to be doing speeds like that, and remember at 204 mph, the ground is traveling at a speed of 299 feet per second, thing about it. have fun, be careful, ride hard.

And second off... I'm new to this CBR forum but, jezz!!... What are all you limp wristed softys whining about!!... What do you have a sport bike for, to go putz'n along in 6th gear doing 55mph in the right lane!!... If you're all so darn scared to clock deep into the 100's, knife out a twisty or bring it up just cause you feel like it then how about you trade your sport bike in for something a little more you speed... Like a Harley... And let the scary riding up to us who have a pair... In other words, quit your B!+(#ING...waaaa

Many good people on this forum with knowledge and experience to spare. It would be a shame to make a negative impression before you even got started. +1

ORIGINAL: 95camaro01f4i well i never said a moddified car couldnt hit 150 . but i mean majority of cars have a hard time geting to 150 especially with space the new cars coming out in todays market are much more capable of geting there. by the way nice to meet another gear head im restoring/ moddifing a 1969 corvette. i agree with u about alot of what your saying. i drove 4 cars friday that all hit 150 bone stock off the show room floor. helps that i work at a BMW dealership :) you are a year late on the reply but I guess it does not matter since 80% of the users that commented on this thread are no longer here.

Some of you people on here really bother me. TAHOE do you think the canuck was bragging, if so, who cares? How does it affect ur life? So the kid went 150mph, so what. This is a CBR forum, CBR's are fast, all you people who get all over the kids case probably shouldnt be driving CBR's. I mean come on now, you get them for 3 reasons, there fast, they look good and chicks dig em. Im not condoning driving 150mph, nor saying its safe, but asking why do you people waste ur time to put the kid down and act like his father? If you got nothing good to say, dont say anything at all, period!
