Hey guys,

I was reading some of the recent post about how the 600rr is slower than the other bikes in the same class. A little disappointed to find out that information. However, that made me wonder.

What sports cars are faster than the 600rr?

anything that can go faster than 167MPH

seriously, how fast do you need to be going? most drag strips and race tracks almost NEVER see above 160mph with motorcycles. 180 feels no different than 160.

this isn't a fighter jet you know... speed isn't everything.

What about in take off? Am I going to be whipped by a Mustang GT taking off to 90?

I may not ever get my bike that fast. So far I am at 133 and in SoCal I don't have alot of room with all the damn traffic and the cops keep me in line most of the time.

Dude, I own a Mustang GT, and in no way shape or form can my car out do my bike period! You might get competition from an exotic car, for instance I have seen an R1 fly by with a GT40 in tow....but the bike was in front! I don't think there is a car out there that can dust a bike 0-90. Though I may be wrong as some members might elaborate in posts below!!

Dusts them how? Dead stop, roll on, 1/4 mile, 0 - 90? 60 - top end?

Well, the gixxer he has been smoke from a dead stop to 100, 1/4, and a roll from 40 to whenever they felt like stopping. My, yeah well, pretty much all around, and he only raced the R1 once from a 40 to whenever and beat the r1 then, so. The cobra is pushing 595 to the wheels and 650(with shot). Bad A$$ car!!

You there are alot of tests in car rags that show cars going from zero to 60 faster than our bikes, but i have really never seen it happen in real life. It really boils done to simple physics, there are few cars with the same weight to hp ratio of a bike, and really that's the bottom line factor; few drivers and/or riders can ever duplicate they claimed performance numbers (most of which are corrected for sea level any way) that these professional drivers/riders, with a perfectly tuned machine, and ideal track conditions produce any way; I have built some pretty fast cars in my day, but doubt seriously many of the could pull like a modern sportbike....

if you were up against a mac Truck and it had the same thrust ratio you had on your bike, it would be a dead tie.

if you really want to know if a certain car will wax you, do some math.

Bikes are getting lighter and faster, but you should never underestimate a finely tuned street legal drag car. I've seen quite a few Mustangs at Firebird raceway in Phoenix that can do 9s and 10s and aren't trailer queens. My brother's friend has a 86 Mustang pacecar rep. (silver) that will do 10.03 all day long naturally aspirated. Imagine a car pulling a wheelie on you and kicking your a$$ in a race; his will!

If you're talking twisties, than bikes kick a$$.
