ORIGINAL: Black Great job so far. Some things... Without a foot to cover the rear brake during practice is baaaad news. ESPECIALLY without a helmet. NOT wise. Wait a month or so at least to do that. BTW you won't be able to ride them w/o the rear brake so you might as well not practice that way. Wear a helmet and jacket and gloves ANYTIME you think youre going to be on one wheel. New skin is expensive at the hospital. Do some stand ups. You won't ever want to go back. Even 1st gear stand ups. my 2c. I would love to, but can't. I have tried maybe 5 times, and the pulled so violently to the side that it has made me stop trying. I cover the rear, the one time I had my foot off was trying to get it to straighten outI have heard that about stand ups, but I do something very wrong when trying them.

ORIGINAL: DThompson HAHA, no the argument was clutching a bike up and powering it up. quote:
Clutching it is like putting a car in nuetral-mashing the gas- and jamming it in drive. Power wheelies is just mashing the gas. I dont care anymore. I think your stupid and you think im stupid. I know what im talkin about. HAHA I like reading stuff like this. Well at least 1 person knows what they are talking about LOL. Dude, do you shift your bike hard? I mean do you go all the way up in the rpms and shift using the clutch hard?? If you do you better stop cause your hurting the bike LOL. Clutching hurts the clutch, because its slipping it a little bit but they are cheap and pretty easy to replace. But if you like powering them up and making the engine work harder than it needs to to wheelie more power to you. I know where you are coming from, but its alot different between a car and a bike. Personally I used to power all of my wheelies. But after learning to clutch them up its the only way to do it. You can argue all you want but your wrong DT and you think your right and you'll argue with me, but I really don't care. Just don't listen to DT and work on clutching your wheelies. Ok thats my .02 As far as the standups, when I started doing them staggered I was all over the place. Let some air out of your tire (I've got about 28psi cold in mine) and it will help quite a bit, but it won't slove all of your problems. Just work on keeping your body straight on the bike. If it gets wobbily just set it down and slow down and try it again. If you want some more info drop me a pm with your questions and I'll do my best to help you out. -Jesse-

Oh well. waist your clutch. I have been powering wheelies for a long time now and they have never done anything wrong with my bike. When your clutches are gone I will be laughing as I pass by

with as high as he had the rpms he didnt need to cover the back brake just let off the gas the engine/gears would bring him dwn plenty fast enough i never covered the back brake during wheelies, when i was first practicin or when i could ride them for a mile and look im still here i dont think u need the back brake in 1st or 2nd maybe 3rd but i dont use it thats just me though. i think u are doin just fine. practice makes perfect. Man i love how so many ppl tell u should wear ur helmet, i bet u didnt know that, he was just showin us his videos not askin for safety advice i bet he knows what he should be doin just comment on how his wheelies are and leave the bitchin about safety in ur head!!! O hey u should be wearin full leathers, a helmet, gloves, boots, o u need frame sliders, a cage, cause if u go dwn u wont believe that u could possibly die or trash ur bike duuuuuhhhhhh. there i helped out in the safety of himself and his bike man i feel like i just saved a life and a bike,,,, o btw ur welcome do what u want man, its not like u were puttin any1 else in harm except for urself and ill admit ive done a few wheelies without any gear my bad.

I think you should wear your helmet and take a grammar lesson with it on buddy. People probably tell you to wear your helmet cause they have seen the repercussion of not wearing it. If you know you can die from pulling a wheelie why wouldnt you just put one on? He can do what he wants i dont care what happens im just letting him know i have seen and read way to many things that just a not wearing one turned fatal. A cage will save you a ton of money on your bike also but you will find it out when you go down. Ask anyone that can actually do a wheelie how many times the back brake saved them, if you hit the throttle way to hard the engine brake aint saving you

I'm glad most of you realize that it is better to use the clutch to pull a wheelie than power it up. There was some ridiculous logic flying around! lol quote:

ORIGINAL: e3gordon learn how to clutch it up. All those power wheelies are bad for the trans, chain and sprokets. be careful Clutching it is like putting a car in nuetral-mashing the gas- and jamming it in drive. Power wheelies is just mashing the gas. Hey, engaging an automatic from nuetral is a lil different than using the clutch. I think a nuetral slam is quite different. Your slamming the gears together all at once compared to disengaging the drivetrain and re-engaging via the clutch: plates/springs.

ORIGINAL: Turboedsupe Haha power wheelies are for homos dthompson i bet you cant even hit the bp doing them like that. Man without you wearing a helmet and taking the foot off the rear brake you are asking to die. Some dude right by here looped out a slow 2nd gear wheelie no helmet and his brains were leaking all over all it takes is one smack on the pavement to end your life Its easy to get to the balance point, Hit the gas a little more. I think its funny that you think I wouldnt be able to hit BP although it is easy as hell to flip a bike backwards. Here I will teach you. Im pretty sure you have the same gearing as I do. Put it in second. Put left foot on rear peg and stand up Get some RPM's going Pull throttle hard Let go of throttle Bounce on bars to preload shocks Pull throttle hard again to raise the tire up. Keep holding throttle to get close to BP Balance your weight so that you are in the Balance Point (Its not Hard,Believe me) I swear, you guys, Always thinkin that there is only one way to the same goal. I got some news fellas. Its pretty easy when you practice.
