Ya, great for high speed runs ... you'll be amazed how far off the stock speedos are.

The one I recorded the 228mph on was a Garmin e-trex (sp?). For about $120 ya get the GPS, mount and 12V converter. Gotta mount a cig lighter on the bike somewhere though -- other option is many many many batteries. The e-trex didn't do maps -- just plotted where you went and how fast you did it.

I got the Garmin Legend handheld unit and also the Metroguide map CD that has detailed maps of all of America, Canada, and Puerto Rico that I can download into my GPS and it shows all the streets. I have it in my car and am amazed at how acurate it is and it is fun routing myself somewhere and having it tell me ( in writing) " APPROACHING TURN" and so on...It is awesome and the speed Data is cool also, I havent had a chance to go out and blast on my bike yet to see how fast ( slow) my bike is due to record rainfall here this last week
