I'm having the hardest time finding the problem with my bike. It hasn't ran for almost 3 months now.
Rode it all day one day and was fine.That night tried to start it and turned over but nothing. Tried for a while to start in and nothing. Could smell fuel and even got a few backfires. Came back the next day and it started right up. Didn't ride was just happy it was working. Got ready to ride later that day and same problem as before. I've been trying different things ever since(3 months) and cant get it to do anything.

getting voltage to coils
no blown fuses
pulse generator resistance good
tried to test spark and nothing a few times the last couple of times got spark but seemed kinda weak.

haven't actually changed anything on it but now it occasionally starts but I have to hold the throttle just barely open. open too much it chokes completely closed it shuts off. But I doesn't start or even act like it wants to start most of the time.

I'll probably relplace the pulse generator soon but I hope its not the CDI.
Does anybody have any other ideas?

Bike 94 900rr/ 96 engine/ 97 body and tank/ 99 wiring harness
