you are NOT going to mess up gears by shifting without the clutch.....it is a constant mesh transmission, which means the gears are ALWAYS in contact with each other, therefore you CANNOT grind the gears. IF by chance you do mess up bad enough to hear a grind, you are grinding the doggear that is used to activate the gear, and you'd have to grind it ALOT to hurt anything. check this site out, it show you how a constant mesh tranny works http://auto.howstuffworks.com/sequential-gearbox1.htm
