WOW - I'm getting 150 to a tank before the Res comes on and I thought that was really bad .. I was used to my 06 Ninja500 which gets 200 - 225 to a tank .....

I'm averaging about 160 +/- on a tank when the REV ligts start to blink. Stock gearing with a Yoshi TRS exhaust. Of course MPG is considerably worse when riding close to RED <11K.

Yes we know how you ride your bike we saw the videos. If you want you could just pull in the clutch and rev it to 15k and hold it for 10minutes and I'm sure that would give you worse milage. /shrug MIke

bike gas milage is good compared to most cars but its not perfect. I have on 06 also and i get about 145-160 depending on how long i drive, how much i drive on that tank of gas as in(timeframe wise), and finally your heavy hand. I dont tempt the reserve light so whenever it comes on i find the enarest gas station. It shoots down fast so rather not be stranaded when that happens.

I only get 100 a tank (reserve usually 2-4 bars gone by that time), but i'm still getting 40mpg (2.5gal). What could be my problem?

You're sticking the nozzle too far into the tank when you refuel, so the pump shuts off when you get to 2.5 gal. Take the nozzle out and fuel until it reaches the top of the neck (visually). Keep the bike on sidestand as you do this, then when you close the lid you will have a little air at the top.
