Knowing I'am a newie at the age of 31 198lb 6ft I understand a 1000cc bike is not for me. Thank you every one for youre respond and answer's on my forum.I decied to go smaller. A 600 or even a 750 gsx r would be enough. which one of those bike has a bigger body frame for my size. I'am still thiking about going new unless I find a price I can not refuse. A 2002 to a 2005 is what I want but a 2005 would be better. Once again I thank every one for youre comment;s.

Go read all the posts in your other question. The one asking if you should start on a liter bike. That will answer this question for you. If you are a new rider, don't waste your time buying a new bike. It will cost you more in the long run. You will drop it, you will make mistakes and damage it. It happens. More often to new and unexperienced riders then not.

I don't think he'll really drop it.. I think most ppls drop it cuz they're weak and can't support the bike properly. Judging from size of this guy doesn't look like he's weak. But then again i might be wrong about everything hehe. I think most bikes are same size, just go with whatever ya like and can afford.

I wasn't talking about dropping the bike on purpose. That has nothing to do with it. There are several major factors that can cause a bike to drop. I'm 6ft 250 and been weightlifting off and on my whole life. I dropped my bike without planning it. I stopped to get gas, put my foot down on a patch of oil and my foot shot out from under me, and the bike went down. It happens.

New riders tend to make more mistakes and have more accidents then people who have been riding for along time. A new rider will drop a bike more often for the most part. I was trying to advise him to get an older used bike for his first bike. Then work his way up to something bigger & better.

Ah ok, didn't realize ppls drop their bike for those reasons. Never droped any bikes before so i assumed it's more of a strength thing hehe. You can always look up at the honda site and find a local dealer around you that let oyu go on test drive. See which one you like most.. But can't go wrong with Honda.

I don't recommend starting on a 600 or a 750. 600s and 750s are such different bikes to ride. If you don't plan on going to a track school or track days don't waste your money on a 600 or 750. I figure I'll never hear the end of it but start out on something that is cheaper, say a Ninja 500. After you outgrow the bike you could easily sell the bike for what you payed and there are plenty of other people wanting to learn how to ride. Even considering a litre bike as a first bike is just ignorrant.

When it comes to dropping bikes, I have dropped dirt bikes weighing in at only 200lbs. Its not a matter of strength. You can be caught off balance for just a split second and then down goes the bike. Fairings on sportbikes are not cheap from the dealers. Plus, when you drop a bike, it tends to touch more than one fairing.

It's not really a strength thing. It's all about balance. 400 pounds standing perfectly balanced is easy. Once that bike starts to lean hard, and that balance is lost... its quite easy to drop it regaurdless of strength. I'm much like Neon. I'm 6'2 215 lbs and also weight train on and off, I screwed up once by not having the kickstand all the way down, let go of bike, realized my mistake, but like i said 400 pounds sideways is much heavier than 400 pounds standing straight up.
