As I start to go I can hear my chain start to click and kinda "feels" a little rough starting out. Once I get up to 4k or 5k I don't hear it but it doesn't mean it isn't doing it still. When I pull up on the chain i comes up about 1/2" - 7/8" depending where on the chanin I pull up on it. On the sprocket, I can move chain moves side to side a little. Any suggestions?

Take off the left side engine cover that covers the front sprocket. Put a mark with chalk in both the front and rear sprockets and the chain and then rotate the rear tire. If you hear the click or get a tightness whenever a certain section of the chain hits a sprocket - it's the chain, if you hear it all the time - it's worn chain and sprockets.

In any case, if it's a problem with a sprocket or the chain, they all need to be replaced at once. It isn't cheap, but if you only do one or the other, you'll only damage the new part you are replacing. Hope this helps.

Best thing to do is just replace the sprocket and chain, they can't be that expensive, better safe than sorry, you don't want your pants leg to get caught in there and rip you off your bike.

You are welcome. Shops here in Cali will cost you around $300.00 unless you are mechanically inclined to do it yourself. Then again, My diagnostic might be inaccurate. It could be something else entirely. I have just started wrenching some on my own.

Stock F4 chain slack should be between 1-1 3/8" according to the service manual.

Ok thanks, also this clicking sound doesn't happen when the bike is in neutral, only when I am in gear.

If your gonna change em, I recomend doing the 520 conversion. I picked mine up on ebay for $180.00. That was for an RK XSOring chain and Vortex front -1/rear +2 sprockets. They made a nice difference.

So is Vortex the way to go in regards to the sprockets?

I like mine, good quality cross drilled lieght weight steel front and super light weight aluminum for the rear. Both were a perfect fit and a good price.
