hello everybody i have a 99 cbr 600 f4 the bike came from california i live in colorado so i do not need the emissions control system that is on the bike. what do i need to do to take it off and will i gain anything if i do take it off. thanks ahead of time for your input

From what I've heard, its not worth it. You'd gain, at most, 1 maybe 2 hp. Unless you're a racer, I doubt you'd even notice that.

the CA model has differnet camshafts, ignition box and all that emmisions hoses..and the fuel tanks are different due to venting issues

where i live there is no emissions so if i take off just the emmissions part of it like the hoses and that black cylinder will that change anything and is there anything special that needs to be done or can i just take the stuff off.

If you take it off, you are not going to notice any difference oher than it being easier to do some simple tasks ( like changing the oil filter) and if you remove it you need to be sure to block off the vacumn lines or it will run bad due to a vacumn leak...If it was me, I would just leave it alone

thats what i will do just leave it alone. i just was not sure if it would make a differanceor not thanks for all of your input
