Alright, I have two jackets right now. First one is a Joe Rocket Mesh Jacket. The second is a Joe Rocket Honda Supersport Textile Jacket.

Both of them smell like motorcycle exhaust badly, and I wanted to know if anyone knows how to get rid of this smell. I tried Fabreeze, and that crap doesn't work in the least bit. (It made the smell worse).

I tried cleaning the jackets and the smell still wont come out. Does anyone else have this problem?

If so, what do you do? I really don't like going to class, church or work smelling like exhaust all the time. Especially when it rubs off on your clothes and you smell like that all day.

Any feedback would be great! Thanks.

Smelling like exhaust after a ride is an recreational/occupational hazard of motorcycling. If it bothers you that much, maybe taking your jacket to the cleaners for dry cleaning once a week (one day service) will help.

No header leak. I sometimes stand by the bike while it's warming up, which I stopped doing now. The exhaust smells the worst when its warming up, so I'm pretty sure it's because of that. I should just get a remote-start for my bike. lol. (plus it's center-up exhaust, so the exhaust exit is higher).

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has this problem and what they do about it. Just bought a new 400.00 leather jacket, so I don't want it smelling like that.

Thanks!

My pants usually smell like exhaust a little, I don't seem to have a problem with any of my leather gear. It all smells like leather.

Just went to the closet and smelled my gear. It all smells fine and it rarely gets washed. I just wipe the bug guts off with a damp rag and spray the liners with febreeze now and again.

I wouldn't use Oxyclean on any leather.

Works great on carpet though.

unfortionately if you ride you're going to smell like exhaust. Its not like your riding through clean air, your riding through the 10 + cars in front of you exhaust. So take some febreeze with you and hope for the best.

I have a Joe Rocket Rasp jacket and I wash mine. I don't see what it could hurt except maybe the detergent could break down the material or sumpin.

Try smoking. My jacket smells like smoke not exhaust. But if you dont like the smell try running some sort of racing gas it smells a hell of a lot better that premium.

Then it would be a smoking jacket.

I have honda racing joe rocket supersport textile jacket and i have the same problem. strong exhaust smell. the smell carries on to yours clothes but after u was them they are fine, the jacket on the other hand still smells. i have stuck it in the washer (not recomended by joe rocket but doesnt seem to hurt the material) hng it up wett and sprayed it with old spice cologne and let it air dry. a day later i checked it and still stinks, the water doesnt seem to soak into the textile material very well. im going to try to soak it in hot water with dawn dish soap with takes gas smell out of most materials, if that doesnt work i guess dry cleaning might work. *Also it is hard to get the bug stains out of the white material.
