Who else has had prublms with there Cam Tensior Lifter ( ithink thats the correct part) If it seems to be common then why hasent honda done something about like recall the part. From what ive seen if you buy the part from the dealer honda has changed the way they made it.(bossturbo.com) To me thats a good sigh they know they made a mistake. Anyways mines goin to the dealer tommorow and see if thats is whats wrong with mine.

Take it out and clean it brake cleaner, oil it and fire it back in (or so they tell me) but it is a common prob on FX onwards I think. If this doesnt cure it its about £40 (uk) for a new one and its not a hard job. Search for back issues of Ride (uk mag) they did a full 22 page CBR600 buying guide with all sorts of useful info like this for each model.

If it fails again, I would recommend gettin the manual camchain tensioner from A.P.E. www.cbrzone.com
and this is the most common ( and almost only) problem with CBR600's

I'm looking to get a 01 F4i in April when I get back home. When you replace it with the manual camchain tensioner, what adjustments do u do? Simple or does it require tuning.

It requires nothing until it starts to make noise and then it is just in need of adjustment (which is easy once you get to it), but at least it is adjustable unlike the stock one

It can sound like "playing cards in your spokes of your bicycle" at idle, along with a slight tapping/knocking sound
