I have a 2004 1000rr , did the flapper mod yesterday . I am not planning any other mods until winter, due to funds will this mod be alright by itself?

Was the first mod i did and didn't have any neg affects. Would think you'll be fine considering its really there mostly for noise anyway.

I'm diggin it !! Have heard some good/bad about it, but for what i paid for it, (240) i'd say bang for the buck wise, its the poo. Fit nice, and had some pretty good instuction w/it, which some of the others don't have. Nice lookin can too, i think. I'm sure there is better out there, but i have gotten some compliments on it at bike nights. Was lookin at the arata too, but its more than twice the price of the yosh. Maybe when i toast it i'll upgrade !!

I'm trying to decide between the Yosh or the Jardine RT-One dual outlet carbon fiber slip-on.

if those are your only two options go with the jardine

yosh just isnt the pipe for these bike

5hp increase is the norm

yup..yosh won't give u the amount of power like akra, sato and arata will give..If you've got the cash get either 1 of these pipes.. I've gain only 4 hp with PC III using a yosh slip-on..you do the mathematics...

Remove the flapper..cut the fins in the air duct..remove the PAIR valve..remove the exhaust catalyser..remove the exhaust valve(if you got the slip-on)..PC III..BMC air filter and u will be surprise at the power gained without installing the full system..

Wasn't sayin its the best "i'm sure there is better" but from a bang for the buck standpoint, its a good choice, i think. For what i paid for it, i have done all the other mods listed, and a fe kit, and nice no-cut frame slides on the way, and STILL have $$ left compaired to buying a arata/sato. Like e/thing else in life it has its good and bad points. If hp was my main concern, i wouldn't have purchased the honda either !!

take a stock exhaust, punch out the baffles,
do the flapper mod and get a good tune with a PC3 and it will equal that of a yosh pipe and then the only exhaust you had to pay for is the 1" drill bit and extension used to punch the stock
i punched out my exhaust and it sounded at least as good as every yosh i have heard
the bike doesnt need a pipe to begin with but if you are going to get one
get one that works

dont settle on substandard parts just so you can say i have a pipe
