Im not tryin to be a dick but who cares if someone has a faster bike. There is a kid at my work who got screwed so hard on a 600 (ever heard of someone paying $14,386 for an 06 zzr 600) and he thinks he has something to prove and because he is paying three times as much that his bike must be faster than a $14,000 bike. Maybe Im just different. If I were going to buy a bike for the first time I may want to know if the 600's keep up with or beat the 929 or what ever I was considering to buy but if and since I already own one I wouldn't ask. alot of new 600's are pretty fast they have 5-6 years of more technology in them then a 929. I wouldnt want to hear that the new 6's are kicking are ass because alot of squids buy a 600 and dont know how to ride. I've beaten many bigger bikes on my 600. Rider makes a huge difference. I know there are alot of bikes out there that will beat a 929 but the 929s will hold there own with many new bikes and plenty fast enough to get you killed in a hurry. they are kinda heavy but will hold up with an R1, 1000RR respectably. JUst ride it and enjoy it. Im just content with my 929 they are very dependable, handles like its on rails, stops good and has the biggest trunk space i have ever seen on a bike. They will last a long time. has alot of things going for it. I would never sell my 929 for a 600 but would definately get a 600 in addition to the 929.

Agreed. Anything, 600's 929's 1000's whatever, that'll do a quarter mile around 10 seconds, or 0-60 in 3 or 4 seconds - man that's some machine.

It's the same kind of conversations all the time in my line of work - I'm a corporate jet mechanic, and guys are always making fun of Cessna Citations cause they're "so slow", meaning they can't quite keep up with the big boys.
But I always tell em, "Listen man, even the Citation goes rippin down the runway , take off after a 3000 foot roll at 150 mph, climbs to 40,000 feet and cruises over 400 mph - that's some piece of equipment, and anybody outta be proud to fly or work on one."

Same thought here as far as I'm concerned. Anybody with a modern sportbike in the garage - you got a machine to be proud of.

Do I ever shut up.....? WAKE UP, you guys, I'm TALKIN' here !!! LOL

I think that perhaps you are being a little too harsh on us. We are just talking about a topic that we are interested in. Nobody said that we weren't content with our bikes. But I also don't think there is anything WRONG with us wanting them to go faster. It's called speed addiction... I'm suffering from it as well as most of the other guys on this topic. lol

I hear ya, weeble1 - as usual I didn't make my point very well.

I definitely don't knock any body for wanting a little more speed - we all sorta showed our need for speed when we bought bikes of this type, didn't we?

Nothin wrong with speed, bro. As far as I'm concerned, our speed is what keeps us alive - I found that out right quick after buying this bike. I find I can get myself out of most trouble with a twist of the wrist.

It's nice to be able to voice your opinion and not be insulted or made fun of for it huh? lol. seems like every damn big topic I click on it's just full of other forum members knockin each other. It gets a little old. And please be careful twisting that wrist. I had a buddy kill himself runnin from the 5.0 about a month ago. A blue light special is NEVER worth a life. keep that in mind fellas!!

I apologize if it sounded like I was knocking anybody. I love my bike and of course I want the most power I can get out of it. I guess I just saw something in one of the posts, that to me seems like they were trying to prove themselves. and I see that so much that it gets old too. I too have the spped addiction. I have rebuilt every muscle/performance car I own with cams heads intakes.... I have a 340HP N/A mustang and a 383 plymouth Roadrunner with over 500HP. anyway I apologize I wasnt trying to knock anybody. I just see so much competition between people who feel they have to have the faster bike and it gets old. I know even the fastest bike in the world would feel slow If we rode it everyday and that is why we search for more power. I have just come to overall satisfaction with my bike and don't see why anybody really cares if another bike is faster then you. They will continue to make faster bikes every year. Not trying to piss people off here. I like the forums and just seen something that sparked me up. I have a good solution for people with faster bikes then yours. wait till the slow down and pass them on wheel and giv'em the Finger. as for twist of the wrist be careful it only takes alittle bit of loose sand or a car to switch lanes and ur gone. + its a felony here in MI. Becareful and rock on.

If you cant beat'em....Join them...then beat them... U will have the element of surprise!!!

Hey Stuntin, I think that it was my post that got you upended. dude it's all good and no hard feeling. I'm just like every other person out there that straps on over 130 HP between there legs. we all love the feeling of speed but I have always been a racer and it just ticked me off when that R6 that I know has better tech and five year of R&D that by the way I helped to build in the bike shop I turn wrenchs in went by me (I was just venting). So it just in my blood all the way back to when I won my first race on my CR80, I know hands down that I have the better bike for if not anything other then it says HONDA on the side of it. I just want a little more, (and by the way the pcIII is on back order "damit") I'm just a happy rideing 60 mph with my girl on the back as I em draggin my knee in a corner at over a 100. and if you think that I'm crazy (so be it, it's my life not yours) I would like to say that I'm a big supporter of safety. I have to much to live for then just a cheap thrill. but I love to ride and I will keep rideing the way I want to.

He he I blew the doors of my buddy on his 04 636 but that my have been rider difference ;) we did a roll on from 130kph. I was in 3rd gear when I punched it. I do not find the 929 aggresive in any way, in fact I find it very user freindly yet deceiving as to the power it truly holds. I have not had any problems with handling the power except the light front end in lower gears but then again I'm 6-0 @ 230pnds.
