The Kawi does a 10.84 quarter finishing at 129.9 mph. 111.4 hp at 13 grand, 48.2 foot-pounds at 11 grand. Those #'s are well behind the 929, but as always, it comes down to who's on board.

I actually raced a 06 ZX-6 on my 929 and he passed me at about 155 or so. His bike has a few mods. Mine just has a 2 bros slip on. I'm also 6"3 240 lbs and he was 5"6 about 130lbs... Might have something to do with it... lol

lol thats cool ,my buddy is pretty much stock zx6r , but the weight difference would be at least 1 tenth if your 100lbs difference unless its 10 lbs of moving weight like drivetrain stuff ,then that would be a tenth of a second difference as well, thanks for the help though appreciate it

10.84 on a zx-6r is good. IT is much harder to launch the 929 than the 6r. I have had both. my 6r made 111HP and my 929 makes 132hp. I weigh a little more now but the 929 has so much torque its is hard to launch at the track. I bought a strap for the front end. it is a necessity to run at the track.

PS - I should have mentioned the source for those numbers I listed was MotorCyclist Magazine. I'm assuming they are accurate.

I feel like I really need to ride a 600 to feel the difference between them and our 929s. Can anybody give me an idea, just out of my curiosity? Say you are climbing off a CBR600 and onto a 929 - what's the major differences you're going to feel? I know - stupid questions - I mean I realize there's differences in torque and horsepower, and they are roughly the same weight - but in the real world, what does the rider actually see and feel when going from one bike to the other?

Ive had both now I just have the 929. KInda wish I still had my 600 to beat on. the 929 is just too nice. The 929 handles just as good and feels really well balanced but feels a little bulkier. throttle responce is better on a 929. the 600 is a lot of fun you can let the clutch out and crack it wide open and go and the 929 you have to roll on the throttle because of all the torque. the 600 feels smooth and fast and the 929 feels edgey like it is always ready to just haul ass.

Neat. Thanks, man. That's exactly what I was asking.

I had nothing to compare it to, basically. Other than the "lawn mower" I got my license on - a Suzuki 250 - this 929 is the only bike I've ridden. In a way I guess that helped me stay alive, not bringing any bad habits into it.
Picture a guy climbing off 10 years on a Hardly Movinson and jumping on a 929. That could be ugly. He'd be standing in the road with no bike.

Thats kinda why i have thus far been scared to crack wot on the 929 the torque at part throttle makes the light front feel as though itd wnat to loop at wot.....regardless of how slow you crack it....maybe its me i only have 160 mi thus far

tell you what, if you were to jump on like a new R6 you would feel NOTHING til you get to the upper RPM's. They are like a slug off the line. Our 929's have sooo much more torque. But that new R6 has just about as much as we do top end. It feels like a freekin turbo kickin in. I didn't expect it when I rode my friend's. It isn't bad for a 6

The torque is very impressive on the 929. My friend has an 05 R1 AND IT dynoed at 150 at the wheel. My 929 made 132. I am pretty proud of that. I wish I could WOT it in first. I have had mine for a year now and I still cant. it comes up as I roll on the gas. I bought a drag racing strap for the front end I will try that to see how it helps. my friend had a 600rr (now has a zx-10R) and we raced and I am better on the clutch and take off and I pulled off the line but he passed me as my front end came up and I shifted to 2nd and the front end came back up and stayed up and I passed him doing about 100mph while holding the wheelie then i shifted to third and smoked him but I was impressed as to how well the 600 kept up if wasnt till the 3rd on up that I really pulled on him. alot of 600s will hold their own til about 110-120 then thes torque monstors tear'em up.

the new r6 is still shy of a 929 unless it does have a turbo...down a good 15 hp

I ran with a 06 R6 the other night and I had him hand's down up to 120 but after that he passed me and then pulled away up to 155, but there is a 80 lbs diff in riders and a 30-40 lbs diff in bike, oh that night i ordered a PC III I hope that will do the trick.
