New CBR1000RR Rider - 9/27/2006 9:19:01 AM    yabusan   Posts: 1 Joined: 9/27/2006 Status: offline Hi There I am new to this site and, I am bying a new 2006 CBR1000RR in two weeks time. Is there any pointers on how to run-in the CBR properly, or any other tips or advise that might be usefull. I cannot wait!!!!!! Cheers Yabu-san Post #: 1

As for running in, I was told not to baby it but not to thrash it either... Just try not to stay on idle too long and not to cruise at a constant rpm.... (Run up to operating temp, and off till amb.) You'll find that e/one has i diff opinion on how to break em in . Maybe try a search of this site n see what you find. Have fun tho, its a honda, and unless you do s/thing silly w/it, you'll be ok. I've always changed the oil before they say to, but who knows if that does any good or not. Can't hurt. Then change oil again(mineral). After 2000km change to fully synthetic oil... Again..as above, its my opinion only. Diff ppl have diff ideas to a successful break-in. RE: New CBR1000RR Rider - 9/28/2006 7:45:21 AM    baxsom Posts: 1348 Joined: 6/28/2006 Status: offline yeah look up rogues site www.rogueracing.org these bikes are run in at the factory up to redline. your new manual will not mention anything about rpm limits as a matter of fact when i got mine the dealer recommeded to go to at least 10k as soon as i got it on the straight away from the shop and let it engine brake back to 3 to 4 k in as many gears as the road would allow many people recommend and have the oil analysis data to back up a 50mile oil change then again 200ish then the 600 (you can do it yourself just save the receipts) then 1000 _____________________________ street-2006 1KRR, track-07 600RR yes, i guess maybe i can be a jerk, but i am tired of reading the same questions and hearing the same would be experts give out wrong info. I was told by the dealer to keep it under 6000 rpm's until after 300 miles. (in reply to baxsom) Post #: 6
