I have only seen pictures here and in magazines of the 2006 CBR1000. I don't see the ram air on the new models. Where is it?

Thanx

look under the triple clamp from the bottom by the horn

the air duct is behind the grill

It is directly above the radiator. If you want to see the "flapper" in action, get a rear stand, crank it up, put it in first and look at the grill and give the throttle just a small twist (about 1000 rpms more than ide). You'll see the flapper shut and then open again when you let off the gas.

Does the flapper not have any purpose, like kepping water etc out when washing or such?

what I understand its only a noise thing. When I pulled mine out I noticed no negative changes at all, just sounded better and got a small performance bump when leaving lights. If you look at your airbox design, you would have to be a complete idiot and concentrate a stream of water into your intake to get water through your filters and into the stacks.
