I think you can only go pass 186mph if your bike is modded ..You can go faster than 186mph without you knowing cos the speedo only show up to 185mph/299kmh...With a stock bike hitting 185mph may be a problem already.
Dats wat I think..
I reached 299kmh many times but the thing is my speedo is way off..but the bike is still pushing..

Just had to point this out, why does it feel like the 1KRR section is different than rest of the whole site? This same question was asked a few times(and it has been in here) in the 600 sections most of the replies would a have very negative at the very least or even just nasty! I like the high society lifestyle going on over here!

1brsxsrr, because we have bad ass bikes that we know kick ass! so we dont have to try to prove anything to another bike, i know i feel a snobbish when it comes to the 1K discussion.
but back to the stock question, cande17 when you say all you could get out of it, do you mean you were in the red all the way? cause thats y i posted this question in the first place, because after 7mos with the bike, I still can not get into the red, either run out of road, or come up on traffic. or the track just isnt long enough, or im just a puss, im not sure. hehehe And since I havent made it into the red, I wanted to see what type of speeds others were getting with the same bike.

I got my 1000rr up to 166mph at Portland Int. Speedway on a trackday.

The track has quite a hefty straighway (a little less than a mile long). The highest speed I've seen myself get to from my own speedo was 166, and I was really pushing it. - Sportrider magazine got the 600RR's up to 177 in one edition, so it's not that impossible. Those Duhamels and Zemkes seem slow at 155 topped out. 155 is a speed usually any stock 600cc sportbike can reach.

Yeah, I see that a bit too. A lot of retarded show-off new riders buy the 600RR's (even though it's STILL too much bike for them). You 1k owners over here usually have had bikes before with past riding experience. So I think it's a riding-maturity thing.

I've crashed at 190km/h(118mp/h) just before entering a hairpin corner after a short front straight cos I had to swerve to avoid this R1 who brake way too early when I was in his slip stream..
Ouch!! A bit of inexperience on my side and it just adds up to my hatred of R1 riders..

well we had a 2 mile airstrip for radar runs. They used to land and take off with b-52 airplanes on it. Now it is closed down and the organization that owns it gave us a day to use it. So, we had a mile straight to the radar. My speedo was reading 186 for at least 9 or 10 seconds and she was just topped out.. i'm not sure what rpm i was at i didn't care to looK!! haha, but i'm sure my bike will not do faster than 186. It was actually 180 mph that the radar said, which means my speedo is 6mph off.. i live about a half hour away from an interstate highway which is 2 lanes and hardly ever any traffic and i've hit 186 numerous times there also. i was just wonderin how come some other people's 2006 100rr's are gettin faster than me.. Aren't they all speed limited to the same speed????

um, that is interesting Cande17 could be how you shift? gas? not sure, I know when Im hauling ass i shift at around 11Krpm but thats only when Im bookin it, regular driving I shift around 5-6K for 1st thru 3rd, 6-7K for 4th, and well 9-10K for 5th, and well I dont get to 6th very often , btw, where is this airstrip, I want a run on it!

it has to depend on location. I live with zero humidity and temps at this time of the year between 65 and 80 for the day and have had my bike before it was stock performance wise up to 196mph. this of course is without a speedo healer. i believe all i had was the fender eliminaor and flush mount fronts. once you get up to that speed it is all about a straight line and slight changes in slope.

I took mine to 156 no healer installed. Nerves got to me and worried about animals crossing road.

rankbee most sence i have read yet i had a 600rr had it to 155 and dammmmm. way to fast on the locaL ROAD. HAVE HAD THE 1K TO 135
