Bottom line:
(1) A judge will think your helmet is a weapon.
(2) Mr. MissingNose may be looking out for you to get some revenge.

What would I have done? Ridden off. let the other drivers call in the police with their cellphones. I know of few cell phone owners who would tolerate an attempted vehicular homicide by a guy like that. If he gives chase? Ballbearing is windshield.

I don't expect Justice when I ride. I expect survival.

I guarantee you, if a cop would have witnessed that incident (the driving, not the beatdown), that asshole in the car would have been taken to jail for wreckless driving. I ASSURE YOU.

Agreed, but he would not have gotten a busted nose in the process.

Ok Thank you Dizzie 56. I think the people in the Car where asholes, but I still think there could have been a better way to get respect !!!

Just wondering, but how r u gonna get respect from a guy who just ran u off the road n on to the sidewalk (all the while flickin u off) on purpose? To me its obvious that he allready doesnt have respect for u what so ever...he might as well of been spittin in ur face. Honestly, how r u gonna have him respect u? R u gonna have him pull over, get him out of his car n then share ur feelings about the situation while singin kumbiya n huggin each other?
Its not like i condone violence...i really dont like to hurt people. Ive boxed for a couple years n now practice muay thai but i have given up sparring wit people just for the fact that i know what i can do n it aint nothin nice. I mean at 165 lbs soakin wet i hit harder than my friends that r 200+lbs lol. That all bein said, i also grew up wit that old sayin "Never start a fight...finish it!" I dont go out lookin for trouble but when it comes my way i make sure they learn a lesson. The guy in the car had it comin. If it were me, i probly woulda just kept on drivin away out of fear of the guy tryin to run me over again if i pulled up to the window to talk some shite. But if i woulda had the balls to pull up to his window n get him to pull over n he actually did he woulda got what was comin to him for damn sure. U dont mess round wit peoples lives just cause u wanna show of in front of ur girl...that shite aint cool (n its probly y she is gettin busy wit someone else cause he is n imature fook that probly dont know how to get business done...lol).

This guy ran someone off the road, thought he was big n hard, he got his ars beat...bet he would think twice bout doin it again. Unless he rode the short bus to school...then it might b a problem. lol

Ok so this is my last post, then were gonna let this one die.

Man over there at 1000rr.net, wow.

there Main Admin guy just told me he wishes i get time for what i did, and about 75% of thoses over there just had nothing good to say to me. Even went so far as to really make me feel unwelcome.

the response over here has been MUCH BETTER. and i appriciate it guys. Thanks.

What i did was wrong, i know that.

Do i feel bad?" Hell no!

He totally had it coming, and i snapped. i admit it, totally snapped. When i told my story i tried to add a little humor, wanted to make people laugh a little.

So i have to ask you guys:

Am i still welcome here? Will you guys hold it against me? Site Admin, what do you think?

Thank you all,
JAG

I read their responses and it is as you say...more negative than here.

It all depends on how a person took the post...were you bragging, simply sharing, or seeking approval? It also depends on the reader's experience with confrontation...has he/she ever been on the giving / receiving end of what you dished out to the driver.

So don't take it personal...everyone would have responded differently in your situation. Those who say they would do the same thing, probably wouldn't and vice versa. Who knows. I saw members post requests for a person to be banned, and then wrote all kinds of sarcastic crap once the person was kicked off of Sportbikes.net. I mean, a real witch
hunt. I imagine that is an unwelcome feeling. You are far from that staus on 1000rr.net.

The important question is will you respond in the same manner given a similar situation. Right or Wrong, the consequences may be more severe than disapproval on a forum board from people who don't really know you in the first place.

Well said Evan,

To be honest, i am not sure what my intent was in posting. I was mad, a little shaken up, and i wanted to tell people about what happened to me and see what they thought or might have done in my shoes.

In the same situation: probley would not do the same, but who knows? About 3yrs ago i was in a very bad wreck in San Deigo CA.

a little black sports car hit me, pinched my between the gruard rail on the interstate at about 75mph. Then drove off and left me there....

long story short, i was in the hospital for 5weeks, in a Wheel chair for 8months and crutches after that for almost a year. 12 surgeries total to put me back together.

now that i ride again i am very safe, and make a point to not ride crazy anymore (used to put some DVD's out with my old crew). and i dont know, that asshole really got to me like no one has in many, many years.

Keep in mind that the lane splitting i did here was with all the cars stopped on the rode and only at about 4mph, just tying to get home out of the weather.

Well, as a member of both boards (and many others) I don't know why you are so surprised that your actions received such negative responses. I know I've made many poor decisions when riding/driving and even let my anger go a little too far on occasion. But what you did is totally inappropriate and antagonistic. You chased down a guy who "wronged" you and attacked an unarmed man with your helmet. Was that the right thing to do? I think most civil people would think not, but I think most people are bothered by the fact that you continually mention how you don't feel bad about hurting the guy.

It's one thing to admit you flipped out and lost your temper, but it's not as forgivable when you follow that up with you not feeling any remorse.

Frankly in today's world, you're lucky the guy didn't pull out a gun and shoot you dead. Which in his case would have been simply self defense.
