Can anybody help me out here? I do not have a manual, but I need to pull these and clean them up. They are leaking like crazy. How much time/effort does it take? Thanks in advance...

well, just removing them is easy. cleaning them is another story.

TO REMOVE:
1. Remove fuel tank and airbox (the whole thing; top cover, filter, and bottom casing.)
2. get a long screwdriver to unscrew the boots (the rubber tube looking things connecting the carbs to the block.) There will be clamps that you need unscrew.
3. Detach throttle cables. (make note of which one is which; push/pull)
4. Detach choke cable.
5. Now actually remove the carbs. They might be on there tight, or not. You may have to rock them back and forth while pulling, this will ease them out. You will also want to inspect the boots to ensure they dont need replacing. Make sure they are not all hard and cracking.
6. Clean carbs
7. Install in reverse order.

Cleaning the carbs is up to you.

all good except one missing step.

make sure to stuff a cloth into each intake passage. this will prevent anything from falling into the cylinder(s) as some intake valves will be open and some shut.

I read in a bike mag, an easy way of synking up the carbs, what you do is use a small drill bit (the smaller the better) place the bit under the the butterfly valeve and adjust accordingly. Any body try this and what was the result?
