I have a 96 CBR600, few performance mods, jet kit, 520 conversion, vanc e & hines exhaust, K&N air filter. It runs pretty good. My friend just got a brand new R1. I am looking to find some serious performance mods i.e. different compression, new cams, stroker kits ( if avaliable). I know nitrous kits are available but when the bottle runs out, the power runs out. Turbo kits are a little extreme but if i found a cheap one i may do it. Does any body have any suggestions? Has any body put serious performance enhancer on a bike? I would like to make a serious 150 H.P. or so. That may seam a little high but want to compete without having to buy a new bike. Let me know what you think.

Sorry dude -- buy a liter bike ... it'll save ya money in the long run. An F3 put out like 90+hp brand new right? Even a 40 shot of NOS is gonna leave you shy. Higher than that an you're running a grenade between your legs -- just no telling when the pin will come out.

I was thinking the same way a few years ago, 120-130 hp would be sweet. I believe yoshimura had a cam kit for a while, dunno if still avail. After riding some of the new R6's, and even just sitting on the newer 600cc sportbikes I still love the riding position of the F3, even if it is still buzzy. The thing about riding an R1 then going back to the F3 is it will still be in 1st gear when you are about at the end of 3rd. You just cant make up for that unless you had a turbo kit and went up about 3 teeth in the front. You would need that anyway to keep the front end down. I would say keep the F3 just cuz there cool, and get a 2 or 3 year old liter bike. Even a low mile 954 should satisfy very well. I included a clip of a turbo GSX-R 600 so you can see how wheelie prone it would be, assuming it has stock gearing. Hopefully I'm allowed to post it being non CBR specific but it is for instructional purposes only

Also, here is someone with an F3 turbo, it would be an awesome sleeper bike. I'm itchin to get in touch with him providing no language barrier. Scroll down to the "Download" to see video

Hey big steve, I figured what the heck and searched the cmperformance from the video and actually contacted the shop where the film was made. It is F1 dyno in Maine, I spoke with an associate who said it is the owners bike and apprently does some real clean work. I left my # for him to return my call, when he does I'll post the info. I think this may have some potiential.
