I saw a ride that meets at "ACH Shell station" this Sat. at 7:30am. Is this the Shell station at the junction of 210 and hwy 2?

Also, the Palomar ride on Sunday meets at Mobile on Telegraph. I do not think I will be able to make it on Sunday, but could you give me the directions to the meeting point, and how I can get to the road the video was showing? The video showed a lot of nice combo corners I'd like to get on when I get a chance. I went out there once on my own, but couldn't really find the nice corners I'd heard of and was seeing on the video. The road that i got on was narrow with loose gravel. You mentioned getting on 91 and then 15 south. That's a good start. So, where do I go from there?

Thanks for your help.

the ACH ride on Sat was last week
unfortunately some people aren't as clear with dates as you'd like them to be
but worry not since there's always a 9 am group from SoCalSportBikes @ the Shell every Saturday

the Palomar Sunday ride is planned for next week - where in SoCal are ya coming from ?
IM me on yahoo IM (snp286) or AIM (menefreghistaa)
look up the location (http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q=Palomar+Mountain,+CA)

the quickest way to get there from LA County is via the 91East - 15South - 76East
but i doubt we'll take that route
usually we take Ortega Highway off the I-5 to Temecula and then hit the I-15 & so on so forth

last gas-station/drink-stop is outside the Pala Casino on Route 76 (comes up on your right when you're heading East)
there's a vegetarian restaurant called Mother's atop Mt Palomar

I will be coming from North Orange County area. I saw the map using the URL you provided. I see a wiggly road coming off of 76 and ending at Lake Henshaw. Is this that road I saw in the video? What is the name of that turn off? Are there any land marks to let me know that the turn off is approaching?

The wiggly road is called the 'tight side' for obvious reasons. It splits into two near the top. If you turn left you'll find yourself outside Mother's. If you turn right, you'll go down the 'fast side' towards Lake Henshaw
There aren't any landmarks to denote the turn-off unfortunately - just that its after a couple of hi-speed sweepers

Do yourself a favor and meet up with the LA/OC group after their meet up location is posted on the 1000rr board.
Although its a fast bunch, we always stop @ every major intersection & wait for the last guy to catch up. There is NO PRESSURE on anyone to push their limits since we all believe that late is better than never
Ride your own pace & have fun is all there is to it

I hear about "peak times" at Palomar. I assume this is when the road would be heavily populated with other motorcyclists. When would be a good time of the day/week if I wanted to AVOID all the traffic on the "tight side"? The way the route is setup, I can't imagine any other traffic going through there other than those who are looking for corners to carve.
