there should be a cable running from the left side of the front axle to the back of the speedo guage on the instrument cluster.

check to see that the axle gear for the speedo has not worn out the gear. that would be the most likely cause of the problem. that unit can be easily be replaced by removing the front wheel. if you want to know if the speedo guage is working, hook a drill to the end of the cable (axle end) and try to spin the needle. don't worry about the speed of the drill, even the fastest will only clock 30-35 mph.

do you have mesh on your maintenance panels? do you have it on both sides? i am going to do that to mine, but was looking at the right panel, and it doesnt appear to have clearance between it and the frame. did you have any issues with this?

yep there is mesh on both sides on the maintenance panels, i dont remember having any problems when fitting it. i found the easiest way to put it on was to cut the mesh into two parts and bend it round each hole at the back of the panel. i applied mine with fiberglass body filler, so its not coming back off. be sure to use stainless mesh, i didnt and mine started to rust so i had to mask off the pannels and clean it, then i treated it and spray it chrome, which i must say actually looks better because its shinier

its a remus viper, its sounds fantastic. i bought it on ebay for £170.00, bargain, then i had to buy a new down pipe system to fit the exhaust but it was money well spent. as you can see i removed the passenger grab rail and patched and filled the arches in the back pannel too, i think it makes it look a little sportier. i'm hoping to soon spray my rims yellow also

thanks . my bike likes to cut out every once in a while whilst i'm driving and i have to let it sit for about 5 minutes before it'll start again, well.... it sort of slows down and chugs to a hault. its happened twice since i've had it. do you know what might be causing it and how i can solve this problem?

I'm thinking your speedometer cable internal has snapped. Happened to my F2. Unhooked the cable from the speedo gear on the front axle and the cable (1/2 of it) just slipped out. I'd check this.

i took the center out of my speedo cable and it seems to be in 1 piece but now there is a squeeking at the front wheel, do u think i may just need to change the whole speedo fitting on my front wheel? i have found 1 on ebay for £10 so i may as well give it a go.

i think it would be worth a try to change out that gear unit on the front axle. it's very rare that the needle on the instrument cluster will go out unless it has been damaged in an accident and seeing as how your cable is okay, then you've pretty much looked at everything related.
