As far as 600's go the power difference between pipe brands are going to be within the 10th's of a horsepower from each other. You really should judge by sound and looks as to what your preferences are.

The only real difference between carbon, Ti or alum muffler(s) are looks and weight. They'll be within a few degrees +/- operating temperature of each other. The Ti sound note will be sharper while the carbon a little smoother... Really most peoples ear wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

I have a Two Bros C2 on my 01' F4i only because it came with it. All my other sport bikes I've had Yoshi's because they're the best for my ear. I would say they're around the same overall noise but the TB is a deeper raspy/grunt sound where as the Yoshi is smooth&throaty.

I just installed my Two Brothers Carbon slip on pipe and all I can say is WOW! I started it up and it sounds amazing. Its deeper and louder and exactly what I wanted. I have yet to open it up because it was raining. The kit came with everything you needed including allen wrench, locktite, and exhaust sealant... not bad for $400 shipped. Two problems, 1) the brackets are too long, letting the exhaust hang too low from the rear fender. 2) The exhaust opening opposite the silencer was too tight to fit over the stock pipe. I had to manually open it so it could fit over. Fit and finish is perfect and took about 1.5hrs to install.

Hey doncollins are you having any issues without using the heatshield anywhere? I took them all off but havent ridden the bike yet to see how hot it gets. Thanks

SU,

i have the twobro on my 06 1000 and I have 4k miles on it since I installed my pipes. I also took the heat shield off and you gets no complaints out of me (or any of my passengers). If you want you can opt to buy the heat shield tape and put it under your seat but I really don't think you will need it. Just my humble opinion.

Sick bike! Did you cut the L shaped brackets to get it to fight tighter to the tail section? There is like a 3" gap on mine that I do not like.

And i would assume the only difference in the aluminum and carbon is a little weight and maybe a little different heat transfer. I couldnt see it sounding much different. But I do not know for sure

Thanks, got a few more additions for after the holidays. I left my bolts as they where. However, a few other folks I know shortened the bolts and it looks good as well. I liked the clearance because I wasn't sure about the heat problem. I do rides from Chicago to Detroit often and plan on doing longer in the new year and didn't want to mess with tape plusI figured the gap would aid in keeping the heat down.

The aluminun is lighter than the carbon but the carbon has better heat dissapation. There is a little difference in the sound. The price is the same so for me it was how I thought the pipe would look on my bike.

Hey guys...new member here..and I just finished installing my 2bro M2 pipe....and it took me about an hour to get the damn springs on...I ended up with the aluminum can do to the shop having on hand and gave me a great deal on it...only paid 250 for it...I would have preferred the carbon, but I wanted it fast...

the thing sounds good, have not took it out yet due to the weather...but I notice it looks a little crooked...and I cannot seem to get it lined up straight....the funny thing is my stock pipe was kinda off as well...

Does anyone have any tips or do they always look a little off centered?
