Hi everybody here's the deal i just got a real sore old hurricane. Starter didn't want to turn the motor over so I jumped the starter with some booster cables and man she lit up but did not start. I've come to realize that the ground off the starter is real shitty hence the no roll over but now it does not seem to want to start. Where do I go now??(IT'S GETTING FUEL BUT NO FIRE)

Anybody have a wiring diagram?????

that would be the start relay at the top right of the diagram just after the battery.

WELL IT SEEMS TO WORK. WHEN I TRY TO START THE MOTOR IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE AN ENTIRE REVOLUTION IT CUTS OUT LIKE THE BATTERY IS DEAD AND JUST "TICKS" AFTER A HALF REVOLUTION. I FIGURED I HAD A BAD GROUND BECAUSE WHEN I BYPASS IT SHE TURNS LIKE A BANSHEE

i dont know, you will have to mess with your printer settings. I just made it a big image for the web.

back to the problem, so when you try to start the bike normal, it begins to turnover and then begins clicking? Where is it clicking coming from, below the seat to the right? If so, that is the starter solenoid, its round with 2 contacts (1 from battery, 1 to wiring harness) and the main fuse. Use a screwdriver or remote switch to complete the circuit bypassing the solenoid. If it begins to turn over, its either the solenoid or the wiring from the start button.

WELL I GOT HER TO WAKE UP LASTNIGHT!! I PULLED A PLUG AND THERE WAS A REAL FAINT SPARK. PULLED THE FUEL FILTER AND AFTER ABOUT 5MIN OF TURNING HER OVER WHILE POURING A LITTLE GAS IN THE CARB i GOT HER TO START. IF YOUR WONDERING WHY I PULLED THE FUEL FILTER IT'S BECAUSE THIS BIKE HAS SAT FOR A QUESTIONABLE LONG PERIOD OF TIME AND NOT SURE IF THAT FILTER WAS DRIED OUT OR NOT BUT SEEMED TO HELP A LITTLE WITHOUT IT.
ANYWAYS I GOT THE CARBS OFF AND THEY ARE NOW SOAKING IN A "SOLUTION" OF SOLVENTS. mAN YOU SHOULD OF HAVE SEEN THE CRAP IN THOSE BOWLS.
MIGHT BE A COUPLE DAYS TO A WEEK OF CLEANING THESE CARBS BUT I'LL KEEP YOU UP TO DATE ON THE PROGRESS AS IT UNFOLDS FOR THERE SHOULD BE A LOT CONSIDERING THE PLATFORM I'M STARTING WITH!!!!!

nice. are you still bypassing the starter to get it started? or did you get that fixed? you want to also check the fuel tank for rust if its been sitting for awhile.

Well yes I'm still bypassing but then the damnest thing after it was running for a little bit I hit the start button and she turned over and over and over.
Now i know your thinking that while it was running it was cgarging but last Sat. I bought that battery brand new "charged" and I had it plugged it in for like 3 hrs and am getting a solid 12 something when I test it so .............. i dunno

As per the rust in the tank. You have no idea!!! I'm going to look at a tank this Sat. Missing a cap but I can get one for 100(canadian)

Can you bump start it?

Battery - - switch- - starter

Three things to start it. check em that order,

jump to test battery
bypass switch to test
yank the starter and bench test it
