Motion Pro carb sync sticks are your friend - they run about $50 in the u.s.

Then you can do it yourself going forward...

1.) sync 1 & 2
2.) sync 3 & 4
3.) lastly, sync 1 & 2 with 3 & 4

There should be 3 screws total.

easy if you have the right tool...

Question: when using an manometer, what is the range of vacuum that is read? I know you just adjust to make it the same for all 4 carbs, but I want to homebrew a manometer and need to know what range of vacuum suction I need to accomodate.

Thanks -- Rick in Houston

http://www.powerchutes.com/manometer.asp

http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/carb_synk.htm

http://www.off-road.com/snowmobile/info/howto/carbsync/carbsync.html

Those are really good links thank you.... and so just really quick the dealer is ordering a new throttle cable for me, i am a little concerned because it was suppose to take 1 day and they have had my bike for 5 days now. It is gonna cost me 208$ is what they said for the carb sync and throttle cable, does that seem reasonable to u?

If you're replacing just the pull throttle cable, it's $20. For the push and pull cables, it's $40. And if a bike is more than 5 years old, they don't keep the parts at the dealer so everything has to be ordered from a warehouse somewhere.

aarrghh i just got my bike back from the shop... it took them a week to fix it they said my throttle cable was ready to snap and the throttlw casing was broken it cost me $208 and when i went to leave i noticed the put a nice half dollar size dent in the tank with paint chipped off... they questioned whether i was sure it wasnt there before. They bought me off with a $20 bike cover.

I would suggest finding another shop. if they dented your tank, then tried to deny it and bought you off with a cheap cover, theres something wrong.
