That vette sounds good and had that bike by a long shot. he can power through the curves and even at the end the bike was on it and the vette smoked him. but more than that I am jealous. I wish I had a road like that. You notice how they didnt have any cars on the road. Where is the traffic? It must have been a video from heaven or something.

Both guys definately know their equipment well. Looks like the bike backed off a couple of times to keep from upshifting going into the corners.

yeah very few shifts were made..but he was still very smooth in the corners. it didnt seem like it was one of those videos were a bike was tryin to beat a car. i looked like the guy on the bike was friends with the guy in the vette and they were just having a good time. cause the bike could have been mush more aggressive. but it looked like both were pretty safe and not going outside their limits..with is nice too see.

looked hella fun, steve

The guy on the bike was definitely no slouch. Smooth and consistent.

I'm sure both machines had alot more in them. Kudos to those guys for staying within their limits. Still, a small mistake by either of them, and we would've heard about it on the news.

pretty much no competition when it comes to the curves.. a car has 4 wheels a bike has 2.. the z06 couldve been going a bit faster through those turns and would have been perfectly fine the bike on the other hand...hello lowside.

i know Kevin Schwantz smoked a stock vette on a stock gsxr-1000 in a head to head match-up around willow springs in an issue of sportrider a couple years back

Most car drivers have it easier....they have usually 100,000-1,000,000 mi experience while bikers tend to spend much less time on their bikes. Also, when I am chasing a car around corners, I have everything to lose from one 3 inch spot of gravel that might be on my inch contact patch near full lean, while the car driver "usually" doesn't have to worry that much unless it is a washout. Most bikes that I know are not used to their full potential per the 95% 1" plus chicken stripes I see on liter bikes. I think in general, most of us would be way faster in a z06 then on our own bikes. That guy was smooth as silk and he still had trouble keeping up.

That said, there is no better feeling or look then leaned over in a corner rolling on the throttle...you can't get that feeling in a car, and you can't pop wheelies (MOST cars can't)

I was surprised at how the vette widened its lead on the straights. That thing must pull.

that was rowdy! didnt think the vette could take turns like that at 100mph. but he did. i also think the biker pulled back some when he could have passed if he had wanted. and i know his bike does more than 114.

stock z06 corvette has 405 horsepower with 335 mm rear tires... it probably could've taken the turns faster than that in the hands of a pro...

Also that was an 02-04 Z06... the 05-07s chevrolet makes now are 505 horsepower and have dry stump oil so they can take 1.0G turns and not have to lose oil pressure (just like F1 cars). In other words an 07 Z06 would've made both of them look slow.
