I finally got around to doing the meshing on my fairings and here they are. It was a lot easier than I thought. Just got some aluminum mesh from Home Depot that they use for stove overhead fan filters. Cut them to shape with scissors and mounted them to my fairings with a hot glue gun, and then used epoxy to ensure they would stay on and resist any heat.

I also got my Watsen turn signals which look super-tricked out http://www.watsendesign.com

They were simple bolt-ons and I had to use the resistors provided so that they'd actually blink and not just look like they were on the whole time.

And finally I fixed my plate light so it shines directly onto my plate. I had bolt lights before that came out of the plate and shined forward. I had to use these metal tabs to reflect the light downwards. To fix the problem, I made a little metal tab and bolted onto my reflector bracket. Then I used the same bolt light and mounted it onto the homemade tab.

So this is what my bike looks like thus far:

Thanks! I love them man, gives the bike a nice aggressive look. Plus not too many people have them. I wasn't into getting the Hotbodies, Lockhart Phillips, or Greggs customs cuz everybody has them. I wanted something different and unique. Mine are gloss black.

I have been thinking bout getting those watsen turn signals for a while. Did you have to order the resistors seperately or did they come with it. Also how was the installation. Was there any special pieces need to install it or did it just go on in the stock holes?

They're straight bolt-on replacements for the stock turn signals. They came with everything you need to mount and the resistors. Installation was easy, considering you do have to take almost everything off your bike.

How extensive. I am sure I have to remove the side fairings. But thats easy. How long of a job did it take you?

Do you have a manual? It's just like it says in there: lower, side fairings, air duct tubes, mirrors, front fairing. Taking that stuff off and getting it back on took about 3 hours. The signal install though took only about 1 hour. It woulda taken less time, but after I hooked it all up I realized I needed to hook up the resistors as well cuz the blink rate was so fast they appeared to just stay on.

Why does everything have to come off when its just your turn signals. I would imagine the side fairings would come off, bolt it on, then wire it to stock harness. And what manual? I have to owners manaul, but anything past that...no!

Look where your turn signals are, they're on your front fairing. Unless you want to yank them straight out, (or you have really, really, really small hands) you can't get to them without taking off the front fairing. You can't take that off without take off the sides, and you can't take off the sides without taking off the lower. Have a careful lookover of your bike and you'll see. As for the service manual, do a search and you'll find the post where stephygee(?) has uploaded some.

Hey I like those turn signals, they seem to be a little more visible fromt he front than any of the "flush mounts" I have seen. I think I'll get those, and while I'm at it I'll mesh my sides :)

Yeah check out their website. They're definately more visible from side and front. A little pricier than some, but well worth it in my opinion. Plus everyone has the Hotbodies, Greggs, etc. flush mounts, so I wanted something more unique and agressive looking.

I think the mesh would look better in black, but bike looks great anyhow.

^^ You can order the "running light modulators" for them to act as running lights. I have the modulators hooked up to my Rizoma's, and they work like a charm. I don't think they sell them by themselves anymore though.

I've been thinking about picking up a set of Watsen's for the rear turnsignals when I re-do my "Raccoon Tail" mod (because of the damned crash). Think they would look SICK with my custom tail.

Anyway man, looks good. Didn't you have reflective pin striping over your tribals at one point?
