Pegs scraping is a friendly reminder from Honda that:

A) you're going around the corner too hot, or
B) you're not hanging off the bike far enough.

Hanging off doesn't only look cool but it changes the center of gravity of the bike. So you can go around the same curve at the same speed but not lean the bike as much. Keeps you on the good part of the tires.

And if you're already hanging off and scraping a knee and scraping pegs then the next stop is the ditch

buy some aftermarket rearsets that are adjustable. that will help with your clearance issues. having a peg scrape is not a good thing. if it catches you are screwed.

I scraped my factory sets until they nearly melted. That is why they are springed because they are not High Mount pegs. The only thing to be careful about that can bite you is the feeler sticking out of the bottom of the peg. They on the other hand can catch in pavement and cause an accident. Just remove the feeler until you get high mount sets. I suggest Vortexs.

i'd suggest changing your technique before going to aftermarket rearsets, etc.
your knee should scrape before your pegs do if you're hanging off enough.
definitely get rid of them feelers though.

whats happening is that the bike is reaching ITS smallest possible lean angle. what YOU need to do is compensate for that by as mentioned before learnign to hang off. shift your weight get your chest centerline inside the bikes center line look through your corner and use your kne (if you're on a track and wearing the proper gear) as a guage of how far you are off the ground. if your knee is dragging that should tell you that there isnt much more lean left. i remember the first track day i did a couple months ago and i couldnt figure out why i kept dragging pegs and toes and not my knee. gotta ride on the balls of your feet, that made a HUGE difference. havent dragged a peg on the CBR ever since.
