How about taking it to a road race track instead of this straight-line bullsh!t. Trained monkeys can go fast in a straight line.

Sorry....I only understand monkey!!! I love people that think going straight is just such a breeze. I run a Top Alcohol Drag Bike that runs low 7's to high 6's at 230mph. Thats 0 to 230mph in less than 7 seconds there BadFish.........Any Monkey can turn left or turn right but can you go 0 to 230mph in less than 7 seconds BadFish and live to tell about it afterwards there BadFish??? Each type of riding has its own Pro's and Cons so don't bag on one or the other until you've mastered both.........Just my opinion!!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

You're not doing 230mph on a bike so get off your high horse. You're ragging on a ZX-10 because you've beaten it in a straight line. The fact is that you've proven nothing. These bikes, though "fast", weren't designed to fast in a straight line. They were designed to be cornered. The differences between all these bikes are so miniscule and most of the differences are when these bikes aren't in a upright position. So when there's nothing between your fairings and the road except your thigh, then you can talk your smack. The ZX-10 is an awesome bike (as is the 1000RR). just my opinion.

Um, Repsolrider, if you are a professional drag bike racer then its pretty easy to imagine why you'd be able to hang with the ZX-10R. I mean, rider skill makes a big difference. Actually, the fact that you are only just as fast instead of faster probably proves that the 10R is the faster bike and that the difference is made up by your skill and experience.

Dudes, arguing on an internet board is like wearing saran wrap -- everybody can see your nuts I've only read one comparo article with all 4 bikes on a track with the same riders. They ran 'em at Willow and the R1 was fastest around the track but the Honda was rated best overall. The article was forever ago and I can't find it I do remember that there wasn't more than a second between all the bikes when stock. As far as straight line racing as compared to twisties -- apples and oranges. Lack of experience at either will make you look stoopid and there is definitely a lot of skill required for either discipline.

Fish you crack me up!!!! By No means am I a Professional Drag Racer and I never implied I was but I do run on a Semi-Pro Level Seris and have a history of doing very well. If you dont believe the 230mph I posted then thats your problem. I also never stated that I had outrun the ZX-10 either. I stated that I ran right next to him and neither bike would give up an inch.......You should read better before you open your trap! You guys turn something so simple into a debate like a bunch of politilcal buttholes seeking canidacy. Like I said before, each bike hs its own qualities as well as each type of riding. I like to go fast straight....You like to go through the twisties!!! SO WHAT!!! Just because someone doesent have your same interest doesen't make them any less of a person does it? So get over it and move onnnnnn! Its sunny outside and I'm am gonna ride than than talk about it so "Peace out Cracka!!!!" Everyone be safe!

I agree with chain why argue? The main differences between the bikes isnt the hp its the chasis, the 1000RR remains very civilised even at Real high speeds, the 10R however feels like your trying to tame a wild bull with a rocket up its arse. And this is why i have a 1000RR cos in the real world i want to wheelie when i choose to, not because the bike will when i open the throttle, i want confidence in those 125mph corners you mentioned not doubt.

Bahahahahahah! THis post is absofriggenlutely hilarious! Dont know how I missed it. RepsolRider, you know what I say about your race? The same as Chain. Way to represent! Can't figure out what all the fuss is here. We all have RRs for one reason or another. It certainly wasn't because we could not afford one of the other liters. When I went shopping I took the pics and resized them and laid them out side by side on the computer. R1: Looks like a friggen bumble bee. X10: Not a bad lookin bike if you can get passed bugar green and Agent Orange. GXSR1000: You know why its so damn light? Look at the tinker toy frame holding the back tire. They cut corners to get that weight CBR 1000: Spared nothing! The nicest frame, tank, exhaust, and even though I am tired of the damn feathers I still like the paint job. Hey man to each their own but performance is pretty much the same at the end of the day for the average Joe. And last time I checked, Nicky Hayden was not in this post. Its what you like on the outside that makes for an all around awesome bike. Shit if it was 30 hp slower I still would like the CBR 1000
