Thanks,

No, I havnt tried the intake flapper mod. Is that for real, I havnt heard of it yet. Who has done it to the CBR so far.... Sounds pretty cool. My bike is still at the dealer and I should pick it up sometime this weekend. Its pouring rain out here and my wifey wont let me ride it home until it dies down. So, I havnt heard what my bike sounds like. My first mod I plan on doing is removing the stock rear tailights and looking for a good slip on of full system....any suggestions.

the flapper mod is DEFINITELY for real & almost every 1000rr owner who has done it will agree
only if you cross into the triple-digits often should you take off the entire assembly and put in the A-Tech

i changed my stock tail-light for one of those blinker-integrated ones & replaced the front blinkers with Greggs' flushmounts

speaking of exhausts, there's a treasure trove of exhaust maps & pictures @ www.1000rr.net
amidst the slip-on's i like the Taylormade & new Jardine Ti-Cf but most racers prefer either Sato or Arata
for a full Ti system my favorite is the one on my 1000rr i.e. Hamaguchi ... unbeatable value for money if you know where to buy it from ;)

also if you don't mind me saying, i suggest you spend on your gear first, the bike's brakes & suspension next and the power package last

thanks for the advice menefreghista....

Yep I got the gear now, and my wifey chose it out...so im all bummed out and it doesnt match my bike..I wanted all black gear but she ended making me get gear that stands out....lol... So, somehow I ended up with the hayden replica with the black cbr and a black n blue joe rocket jacket.off ass hell...ugh..it dont match but the helmet is sweet....Man the 1kRR wasnt as bad as I thought it was. I rode off and headed to the nearest parking lot. Spent about 20 minutes on getting a good feel for riding again, and felt right at home. The CBR is smooth, smooth, smooth.. Slightly buzzy on the highway and for some reason not sure if I was going fast enough but my wife said I was going pretty slow. heard somethng about a speedohealer... I still got to break in the tires so couldnt really enjoy its carving ability....Also, i wasnt expecting the exhaust note to be too loud, but the stock sound is pleasing.

Thanks fellas for the advice, I'll post pictures tomorow...

glad to hear you're having fun
don't bother getting a speedohealer unless & until you change the gearing

Heres pixes of my CBR, Just got my Motrax turn signals and waiting for my no cut frame sliders. havnt done the air flapper mod yet. My next major mod will be choosing for an exhuast but Im stuck between the Micron Dual and more than likely going to pick up the Jardine Dual outlet...since it will come with a fender eliminator. My wife wants me to get the loudest since it is louder and everyone will notice me...cuz its pretty hectic here in Washington, but im not into all that noise.

That is one hot looking bike!

I hope your not going with "Shogun" no-cut frame sliders. If so, check out this site: http://hooliganbiketech.dynup.net/hondacbr1000rrweb/1000RR_mods/1000RR_shogun/shogunsliders.htm

I went with no cut frame sliders from OPP racing. I also decided to go with the Scorpion exhaust so I didn't have to drop more money on a powercommander. It has a nice deep sound without being too loud. you can see it in my pics

IMO..if you wanna buy sliders, buy the long, 'ugly looking' 4' or 5' sliders currently selling in ebay. No point in buying those nice looking short sliders or those mushroom head ones cause its too short to keep your plastics away from the tarmac in case of a slip.

+1...let them do what they're supposed to

My first sport bike is a 1000RR 05'.I LOVE IT!Just respect it until your riding skills adapt & then you better still have a little respect for the bike.

$11,500 for a bike
00-01 929                    $4500
02-03 954                +  $5000
spare motors for both    $1500
                                    $11,000

I just cant bring myself to get with the times I guess. Until I hit the lotto I'll continue to piece them together.  Congrats on the new bike though glad you chose the Honda.
