What do you think? I spent less than $20 (not counting the beer) to add a little something different to the swingarm and front end - plus I painted a few things. I would have bought rearsets if money wan't an issue- but it is.

If you like it, I will tell you what it is and where to buy it.

The rotor looks black because of his camera angle... nothing will happen to the rotor other than surface rust if you leave it in a humid area long enough.

It does look good... I like the red LED or bulb in the positioning light and I'm curious how you did the swing arm as well. Did you paint your rear sets or were the black to begin with?

awww you painted it black with a net huh? stretched a piece of fabric (with intergated holes) around the swing-arm and then painted it black... made it look like carbon fiber - i was like "hmmm, is it just a decal?"

fooled me for a second

Good Guess Vermino, but I wasn't willing to paint the swingarm just yet - mainly because I wasn't sure if I wanted to take it apart. Here is what I did:

First, I painted my stock rearsets black with flat black spray paint and a matte clear coat. It is holding up well and looks great (IMO) and cost less than $5.

The headlights - I wanted to black them out, so I got creative. I was at our local Wal-Mart when I saw a tinted design for the rear window of a pick-up truck (about $15, or $3 if you are lucky enough to find it on clearance!). It was a self adhesive mesh plastic with a design painted on it. I cut out the design and threw it away. I then cut out enough to cover the headlights. The material bends and forms great if you use a little bit of heat from a heat gun or hair drier.

The swing arm- yep, the same stuff. I took my time (that is where the beer helped out) and slowly formed and heated and stretched the adhesive mesh tint over the swing arm. A heat gun or hair drier is the key to having this look good and form to the contours. Trust me- this is the second time I have done the swing arm. The first time was without a heat gun.

For the swingarm, I also used a $2 can of clear coat over the mesh tint. It has held up fine. I have not had to do a thing and I get plenty of compliments about it.

That looks great...looks like some exotic C F swingarm on race bikes.
Wonder how it would look on the black swingarms?  I think this is the best looking mod I have seen on here in a long time.

I have had a few PM's requesting higher res photos, so I thought I would add links here:

Here are the links:

photo 2 - bike

swingaarm close-up

product

The tint is holding up fine and I often receive compliments on it. Most people think it is carbon fiber.

I am not sure if there would be enough contrast to use the tint on a black swingarm, but you never know until you try. If you do, please post a photo for everyone to see.
