I have been looking for the top speeds of 2005 bikes. Curious where the CBR 600RR compares to the other 600cc - 1300cc bikes.

I saw 161mph on my 2005 CBR 600rr bone stock but I have to admit that was under absolutely perfect conditions and a flat, smooth, and long new highway. I would say for and average, 150mph would be pretty consistent. Whats everyone else's opinion here?

Thanks, RepSolRider. I haven't pushed mine yet, but have done 125mph with no problem.

i did 169 and had room to go higher... i got a bit nervous. at that speed you can't even let go of the throttle...you have to slowly slow down.

Highest i have seen on my bike was 156 and I had quite a bit of powerband left, I was rippin on the freeway and ran out of room, was goin back and forth between lanes and saw i was doin 156, i was like, ****in SLOW DOWN. I ride full gear but damn when you are pushin 160 your helmet starts to squeeze down on your brain, feels really strange if you are runnin high speed for long periods of time.

I'm not even gonna try topspeed on this shit without a steering damper, there are very few roads that are smoothe enough for me to feel comfortable pushing that hard, I am pretty big for the bike, i can drop 30mph just by sitting up and opening my shoulders, in tuck position, i rest my elbows on my knees a few inches back and dip my head near the windscreen

please, i've taken corners at over 130 before with no problem. I've hit 165 before my power commander. i'm small enough to tuck down completely against the tank and behind the windcreen. at that speed, wind resistance is your biggest obastacle, aside from needing more power.

YZF-R1 180.4MPH
GSXR-1000 ('04) 177.24MPH
CBR-1000RR 176.79MPH
MVAUGUSTA '750 173.509MPH
GSXR-750 170.1MPH

Well, in ALL fairness, your speedo is wrong too! All of these new speedos get off little by little as you increase your speed! I won't lie, I weigh 215 and I've had my 05 600rr in 6th gear at only 9000 rpms to what MY SPEEDO said to be 164. Now, number one, weight is a HUGE factor that MOST don't take into consideration! Also, I had another what, 7,000 rpm's to go!!! which are in the POWERBAND! Now, like I said, it's these digital speedos that suck! In all actuality, your reports from sportrider, are TRUE speed calculated. In other words they either use GPS systems to calculate it, OR Radar/Laser! Because of the fact they are WAY closer. Just call it 160 for the "AVERAGE" rider!
Now while we're talking about STATS.....Folks, I LOVE my 600rr, it's a SWEET ass bike. I will NEVER get rid of it, til it blows anyways!!! However, has anyone read up on the new r1? Give you boys an idea of what is happening for the upcoming year...because we all know how close these damn things are from make to make!!! The new R1, maxed out 1ST GEAR at 100mph!!!!! And, they have proven it's HUMANLY IMPOSSIBLE to be 80% + in the throttle, and over 7500rpms and KEEP THE FRONT TIRE DOWN!!! Man, if honda's game isn't up to par with that, I may end up with a 600rr for a daily rider and an R1 for my weekend toy!!!!!!

it's what my speedometer read...and i felt i had room to go faster. i was tucked as tight as i could be against the tank and had my feet on the passenger pegs. i was speeding at 167-169 for about 10 seconds.

the bike is amazingly stable...

don't bash me...bash the speedometer
