hotbodies exhaust???

devildef2002 -> hotbodies exhaust??? (12/4/2006 9:24:02 AM)

just wanted to get your thoughts on the hotbodies system. i looked it up and its really cheap, but is it worth the price?

zerochickenstrips -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/4/2006 11:44:30 PM)

Look at my photo album...I love the exhaust. It looks so super clean, esp. with the integrated turn signals included in the body work that's already painted to match. It is quite noisy, but I ride with earplugs anyway. Everyone at the shop I work at tells me it sounds badass when I leave work everyday. And how could it not be worth the price? You get a slip-on exhaust, turn signals, and a smooth undertail in the same kit. If you went and got a decent setup comparable to this (such as a Yoshimura, Sato, or Akropovic slip-on), you'd already have almost as much as the Hotbodies kit is. Then you'd have to buy a fender eliminator and you still wouldn't have as smooth of a tail section.

menefreghista -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/5/2006 5:04:46 AM)

i'd much rather keep the stock pipe rather than be a HotBodies poser

baxsom -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/5/2006 6:13:04 AM)

+1

havent really heard that much good about them
they use D&D pipe supposedly so that in itself is enough to make me stay away
but to each his own

FATHEADS1KRR -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/6/2006 11:29:33 AM)

So the guy is a "poser" cuz he rolls a different can than you guys ?? So, if you buy the right one, your not a poser ?? [sm=icon_blah.gif] Grow up.

bboi -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/6/2006 4:12:28 PM)

You guys kill me with this poser, squid stuff. Its like high school all over again. The word poser actually makes me invision you guys as being like that B-Rad guy off Malibu most WAnted lol. Seems alil childish to me.

baxsom -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/6/2006 6:41:12 PM)

you asked for our thoughts
dont ask for what you are not ready to get

there is probably a reason why you have not received a positive reply on these pipes

i stand by my earlier statement as do everyone else that replied i am sure
the cans are made by D&D
D&D isnt known for its outstanding quality
plus i hate the sound

next time ask a more direct question like how does the hp compare of pipe a or pipe b
or does anyone have a sound clip of pipe a

then you can try to flame someone for throwing their thoughts in when thats not what you asked for

bboi -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/6/2006 7:45:44 PM)

Im pretty sure the first reply was positive, but anyways not sayin your opinion on the pipe wasnt valid just saying that the use or poser is kinda stepping on the toes of folks who enjoy their hotbodies pipe

baxsom -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/6/2006 8:09:54 PM)

yeah and zerochickenstrips also says that it is quite noisy. that is not a positive in my book.
you will also notice that there is no mention of performance increase

everyone is entitled to their opinions
if i wanted everyone to always tell me what i want to hear i would pay for yes men

would you have prefered a
its great
everyone loves this pipe
its the best

sorry for being honest

Vermino -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/6/2006 8:30:05 PM)

there is being honest and being blunt...

the "poser" was over the line - yes it was his opinion but really disrespectful how it said it.

devil - I never really heard a hotbodies exhaust (in person) but the best thing you could do is to ask on the forums if anyone near ya has one equipped and maybe be able to listen to it.. no one wants to pay $700MSRP for something they are not happy with. I wish i could give you a feedback on it but I haven't had the money to buy myself one (yes, I want to get HB exhaust for the undertail look of the bike)

http://hooliganbiketech.dynup.net/hondacbr1000rrweb/1000RR_frameindex.htm

there is a good site for all the sound bytes - before listening to them, figure out what you want from your exhaust system. Horsepower increase? a low pitch? a high buzz? - once you figured out what you think you are looking for, then listen to each and see which one fits you best.. usually slip-ons wont give you horsepower increase, or very few horses - but if you got a 1000RR, who the hell needs more HP then that?

to be honest, i believe baxsom is probbly right about the D&D cans - hotbodies is more about looks then performance..

devildef2002 -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/6/2006 11:33:34 PM)

thanks for the replies. I'm most likely going to get two brothers or arata.

menefreghista -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/7/2006 5:44:40 AM)

devildef2002 - i'm glad that you're getting the Arata
change the filters to BMC and get a PCIII w/the right map later - you'll fall in luvvv with your bike all over again

p.s.
and i stand by my comment about Hotbodies
if anyone really wants to be spend money on bling, they should spend it on themselves (i have a super-poserific Icon jacket & gloves for sale ;) haha)

dizzie56 -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/7/2006 3:52:22 PM)

i was thinkin bout gettin the hotbodies but then i heard that the plastic undertail melts sometimes. i actually think that it looks pretty damn tight and since slip ons only give u bout 3-5 hp anyways it aint that bad of a deal. u get the looks and the power.

theozman82 -> RE: hotbodies exhaust??? (12/7/2006 6:30:22 PM)

I love my HB exhaust and undertail its loud but I wear ear pulgs anyway

thats a pretty common misconception. the low quality slips are doing 3-5
higher quality ones like sato and arata consistenly are doing 10-15 with a custom map

even without a custom map my 06 went up 9hp from the base line with my arata slip

that page posted earlier with the sound clips has dyno charts for his 05 with arata slip, BMC race filters, and the flap removed got a
total gain of 14 hp

thats better than a lot of full systems
