after hornet time for upgrade - I was thinking of F3 or F4. As far as I know F4 got new engine (with the same cam tensioner problem) few ponds more and is lighter around 17 kg.
So rather not F3 (if I am wrong - please correct me) . So F4 - but again problem - which one injected or with carburators? which one are better?economicly , relibility, usebility etc.?

What's up.

I have a '99 F4 & I love it! The F4 is carburated, the F4i (2001 and up) is fuel injected. I looked at both when buying, one needed the carbs rebuilt and one had a "fuel injection light?" that wouldn't go off. I don't know how much $ it costs to replace the injectors or get the injectors, but the rebuilding the carbs (done by a shop) was a couple of hundred & with experience most people can do that themselves.

Good luck on your search!

F4 is going to be cheaper and in the long term easier to maintain...

I'm biased.

A newer F4i will be an awesome bike too.

I would get the F4i just to be closer to the most current generation of bikes. Fuel injection was supposed to be da shiznitz when it came out, but now it just seems to be the standard for any new bike to be taken seriously.

I actually prefer the smooth throttle response of a correctly jetted carburated bike to the OFF-ON throttle abruptness I experience with my F4i and 1000rr.

F3's are good bikes, but the revolutionary F4 is a completely revolutionary bike in comparison.
F4's are really easy to ride, very quick, and an overall blast. They are slipping off the pages of the OEM upgrades list, but are still a trip on the track.
F4i's are a little less gentle, more sporty, and yes they have an almost on/off throttle initially. Power Commanders are supposed to help with the abrupt roll-on.

I would go with the F4i if you have the extra cash. I just like them becuase you dont have to deal with the choke. I like the fuel injected bike better, I havent rode a F4i but my buddys gsxr seems like it idels better, starts easier, and is a little more responsive then my bike....although it is a totally different bike.....I would still go with FI.

I had a 97 F3 and loved it, never had a single problem with it. The only time the bike showed its age was in the straight aways. The newer 600's were just lighter and faster but not once did I have trouble keeping up with them in the twisties.
