simple question ... what are good aftermarket air filters to get? K&N's? or is there something better out there?

Don't bother then. if you want performance, look into a full Titanium Arata exhaust with a PCIII. changing the air filter does JACK SQUAT for performance.

While I tend to agree with you there, how do you feel about spending all that money on a full Arata exhaust combined with the restrictive airflow stock air filter? You state it does nothing for performance, but yet an aftermarket performance air filter, such as the K&N allows for a more "open" air system, which allows more air intake into the engine, thus allowing the engine to create a more open airflow, increasing HP. Although not much at all, still it allows the engine to get a more equal intake/outflow. ^^^ Allow(s) (ing) is the word of the day and sponsored by the letter "Q"

I run a K&N. Never have to replace it. Just clean and oil. I figured it would save me a little money on paper filters over time.

They flow the same. K&N is reusable, thats the benefit. If you want better air flow buy some carbon fiber race intakes .

yea mang...that's why if you go on some sites with PC3 maps...you'll find ones that say...blah blah blah exhaust and stock or K&N filter. if you want flow, run NO filter...not recommended though...

word. no filter = bad mojo... but hella flow! K&N filters aren't worth it, they don't free up horsepower, and actaully allow larger/more particles to pass through the filter. again, BUY A FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM if you want power. Arata Makes the most powerful. 2Bros makes an OK one, but TBH Hamaguchi makes a MUCH better one.
