I have a 1995 900RR and when i'am in 2nd gear sometimes 3rd it will come out of gear and go into neautral, Some times just jump around, My buddy says it's from having a very bad sprocket and a extreemly stretched chain is this true or what is wrong???

Shift forks are probably shot -- sorry dude but that's a bit of $$ to repair.

hey all, I have a cbr6 rr and there is this wire that is grey in color and its hanging by the brake lever. It also has a black spool on it with a spring with hooks. Can someone tell me what this wire is and what it does

Brad: The Haynes manual lists a bunch of things that could cause jumping out of gear. Detent arm assembly worn or damaged. Gear pinion dogs worn or damaged. Shift forks, gearshift drum and pinion grooves worn. Gear pinions, bushes, and shafts worn. Bent gearshift shaft. And Gear pinion tooth broken.

Onfire: Could that be the rear brake light wire?

chain stretcher is probably right, very expensive to get fixed. It would be cheaper and eaiser to get a whole motor of ebay and just drop it in your self if the tranny is in fact messed up.
