I would imagine you could just loosen the rear tire and move it way forward giving you some slack and slide the chain off the sprockets - I wouldn't think that would be a real problem.

You'll have to take off the lower fairings, or at least drop them to the floor.  The front sprocket is nothing at all, slides on and slides off.

Nothing at all?  Come now, they are simple in the way the physically go on and off, but use an impact to get it off as it will be tight as shit.  A breaker bar and socket/ratchet will work but you will probably have to block the rear tire from rotating.  Put it in gear, in neutral the engine wont hold it enough to break it loose.

Sorry, I don't think of removing a nut as much more than... removing a nut.

I used a 4-way on mine - easy peasy japaneesey.

How old is your chain?   If you have a worn or near worn chain, your new sprocket wont last long.  A bad chain will eat new sprockets and vise-verse.  Just FYI.  Most of the time they are changed in conjunction with one another.  Good luck.  You will like it.

I have -1 on my F3 and love it. Easy to do, but gives it a little more power on the low end. Messes with your speedo so watch out!

my 98 f-3 with -1 is about 1500 rpms higher now. I think on the freeway its 5th gear, about little over 7000 rpms and speedo says around 72-75 mph- I think actual is closer to 62- 65mph. Gonna ride next to my truck on the freeway when weather gets nicer to verify.

I have the -1 front sprocket and it does affect your speedo quite a bit.  I was going to go on the interstate with a watch and see how fast I have to drive on the speedo to go a mile in 1 minute (60 mph) and that should tell me how far off it is.  Today I was riding and opended up for a little while and fifth down a hill.  The speedo went to 145 but I doubt I was doing over 130.
