Today I was removing the honda stickers on the gas tank. And that sticker glue is a bioooch to get off. But I ended up using Pledge. It is that wood cleaner. I had a really softrag and when I was done polishing it, the plastic looked like a mirror. Is this the best thing for it or does anyone use some special stuff that might protect it better? Like turtle wax or someting and ideas welcome

Uh, did you get ALL the stickers off? Or JUST the honda one? Cause on mine, the very top of my decal is CLEARCOATED on. But my HONDA logo isn't. I have the silver with black graphics and was going to strip it down to just straight silver, but I can't because that ONE DAMN PIECE is cleared on the tank!!!!!

Pledge is really bad for the finish. I use to work EMS and was required to detail our trucks (ambulance every morning). Kind of over kill we thought, we agreed with inside (sanitary reasons) but the out side.... once a week was good for waxing. To make it look like we "did our jobs"... we sprayed the trucks off and waxed them with Pledge. It will fade the paint fairly quickly and offers no protection at all. All it does is shine and causes the water to run off like wax.

I only removed the Honda stickers on the gas tank. They were not clearcoated on. Ok so I will not use pledge anymore thanks for that info.

Ya pledge is not good. Get a nice spray on detailer to use. I got some detail wax from the company that makes S100 and it works great. Only about $9 for a large can. Leaves the finish looking perfect.
