hey, just wondering what the new price of a CBR1000 hurricane was in 1988, the one i'm looking at is black and red but that probably makes no differance, also, could anyone explain really briefly the CB100 N, F and hurricane differances? it's got me a little confused

thanks muchly in advance

In '88 I paid $6100 out the door in Puerto Rico, we have the highest import taxes of all USA and territories.
'87 and '88 models are the same CBR 1000F.
If memory serves me right, I think '89 models were '88 left overs.
'90 model changed name to CBR 1000 and Hurricane was dropped, other changes were body style, bigger wheels, slightly bigger oil cooler(1 or 2 more rows), oil cooled and higher capacity alternator and slightly thicker disc brakes.
If your black and red has the Hurricane letters on the gas tank in silver color, then it's an '88 model, but if the color is black then it's an '87 model for sure.

I attatched the picture, it is red and black :) you think 2700$ CDN is too much for that bike pictured there with 25000 miles?

What is the conversion of Canadian dollars to US dollars????
Motorcylist magazine said not too long ago, that this bike was a Classic and that a pristine condition bike could go for $2800 to $3000 US dollars.
I hope this can help you.

well, that means it's worth it for me, he was asking 2850 CDN ( X .81 2268 US$), but I'm trading him my car which I'm asking 2200 for, giving him an additional 650$, but the thing is I paid 600 for the car ;) I did have to put another engine into the car, which took me 5 hours, and i had the engine laying around for a couple years anyhow (the car that i got the engine form I paid 400$ for) so it looks like I'm going to come out ahead on it... he was originally asking 3500 for the bike = 2835 USD.. the bike isn't in mint condition, the fairing immediatly underneath the left handlebar is cracked, but it's not something that some fiberglass can't fix in a hurry, other than that i's been flopped twice, both times at standstill, virtually no marks from that.. anyone wan to buy the bike off me for 3000US? lol

I am on the big forum (rx7club.com, I'm also on mazspeed.com, nopistons.com and BCRX7.com (my home forum I gues you'd say.), then I had a chevy blazer on 40" tires for a while, so i'm on BC4x4.com and nolimitoffroad.com. my landlord and roommate and several friends have toyota supras, so I'm on supraforums and supramania (landlord's supra makes 650 RWHP without N2O)... I'm also on MSefi.com, which is a DIY stanalone fuel amanagement computer forum, I think I'm on BCDSM (eagle talon) because I had to fix one and needed info. no doubt i've forgotten a few.. so I'm not too hard to find on various forums.. go ahead, call me a forum-slut

Mmmm, 93 Rx7.. *drools* nice car ;)

This is the web page for Rotary Performance.
They tune, rebuild and sell RX7 parts and on their web site if you look for the '99 parts available, my car is the one being showed on their web page.

getting the bike saturday.. wooot :) also looking at a suzuki GS450 to learn on, cheap insurance easier to maneuver.. I also got my learners motorcycle liscense yesterday, got 90% on it

I had to laugh so hard at one of the questions

Passengers :
A) can distreact the operator by talkign too much
B) must wear aproved helmets
C) something else, I cant remember
D) Are the best way for the rider to keep his back warm

I laughed soo hard in the middle of the test people must have thought I was off my rocker, it was truly a priceless moment.. I got a few wierd stares i'm sure (I chose (D) j/k)
