I have an 01 929 and whenever i start to get real low it feels like the bike is gonna lowside. Is this just my inexperience. If so any suggestions on riding position and so on to help me out. Btw the tire is a brand new dunlop like 2 weeks old

kinda hard to give advice without any details or pics
there are a million different things that could cause that feeling
i could rattle off a hundred things that would cause that feeling, that would be an endless thread

i'm sure we'd all be glad to give some advice but it would be nearly impossible without some more info

actually if you do trackdays w/ orgs that have control riders talk to some of them, get someone to follow you around for a while and tell you what your doing right/wrong
a picture is good and can be nitpicked online but honestly the advice you get from someone actally riding with you can be a LOT more valuable
your going to Jennings right?  STT is there a few times, shoot me a pm if you do a trackday with them, I'll hook you up with a CR who will help you out.

ahh wait til you get on the track then, its totally different
I have that feeling on the street all the time but i've discovered that its because I don't trust the roads i'm riding on after riding on the track for this long

just some random advice, buy the best gear you can afford but look out for good deals on used stuff, I've got a Spidi suit thats been through 4 or 5 crashes and is still going strong, only paid $500 for it too (bought used, new was around $1500)

zip together stuff is okay but nothing I would ever wear on the track

also check out RoadRacing World's "Trackday Directory and Riding Guide" special issue, its on roadracingworld.com
great stuff for a first time track rider

+1.  Getting low on the street will feel awkward...you just aren't carrying the speed to balance at high lean angles.

Racing/track riding totally ruined street riding for me....I don't trust the road, other drivers...any of it....and much of that is well founded.

+1 on the gear comment.

I had 00 CBR929 before and it was one of the most stable bikes.  I do mostly track days now but still do some street riding.  I have to agree with the rest of the posts, if you are feeling this sliding effect could be several things.  Some possibilites are low tire pressure, too high of tire pressure brand new tire needs a little heat or time to burn off factory coating or least activate rubber compounds to stick properly.  These are just some of the things that could give the initial feel of sliding away.  I agree the best place to search your limits is a track day!

Try having someone who knows about suspensions set the bike up for you (unless you already have)...not just a buddy who's tweaked before...someone who knows what they're doing.

One REAL common mistake is when you start getting nervous down low is to back off the throttle. This makes things worse because it actually loads up the front tire. Its counter-intuitive but sometimes picking up the throttle a little will steady the bike and actually let you get lower.
